Darren's Pelvic Tumour - Op Tuesday 15h Sept. - Royal Marsden - Prof. Thomas.
Got back from London yesterday afternoon, traffic was pretty clear. The procedure i had on Monday was an angiogram to check if i needed to have an embilisation done on the arteries in the right of my pelvis (that is - if the tumor had connected up with the right side or not). The radiologist could not determine any links so he halted the procedure, i asked if that was good/bad. His reponse was that it would make the main surgerical procedure less complicated because only one blood vessel would...

I have been carrying on normally and getting through the days quite well. That may now change as I have just found out that my best friends husband has breast cancer !!!! He is going in on monday to have his breast removed and at the moment they are staging it at zero - which is I suppose good in a way . About to start Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy!!
Hi all I'm about to start Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy and suddenly the day before, having been quite strong and positive thru all diagnosis and ops etc, I am absolutely terrified!! I'm sure that it is 'going into the unknown' and not knowing how I will react to the drugs that is really worrying me. I've spoken to so many people and read so much but everyone seems to be different - I'm just hoping that I will be one of the lucky ones!! Here's hoping. How did you all get on with the first day...

We are now into the second cycle of Dad’s chemo, he is still remaining mentally strong but physically is more tired each day. We have had some lovely times together, trips to the shops and lovely meals. Today is my middle niece’s first day at school, so her and her sister are coming to Dad’s for tea tonight, he may not see there first day back next year so I will make it special and take lots of pictures so they can remember the day. Dad has his CT scan on 17th September, he is feeling nervous...
