Fatigue returns

1 minute read time.

It's getting on for six or seven weeks since I finished radiotherapy and seven months since I had my Decapeptyl injection. Things have been quite reasonable in almost every respect and I am pleased with the progress I have been making.

At least, I was until last Friday. It seems I'm vulnerable to psychological stress in a new way, which is that it brings on the fatigue. I had a bit of a stressful time with a family issue that you don't need to worry about and, after going to bed at a normal time on Friday, I slept in for half the day on Saturday and then felt really weak all day. Same thing again on Sunday, and then on Sunday night there was a bit of extra stress and a bit of a late night, but I had to be up by 6:30 this morning. However, I finally woke up at 8:05 after my phone had rung five times and I had slept through the lot. This is not like me at all. In fact, I have felt really, really energy-free all day. I think I could say that this weekend, even though it is six months since I had the injection which is supposed to last for six months and which has the known side effect of inducing fatigue, this is the most fatigued I have felt.

Is this just me, or is it normal for it to come in waves so long after treatment?

Never mind, onwards and upwards. Take each day as it comes and all will be well.
