Blogging can be a great way to journal your experiences and share with others. Why not create your own cancer journey blog, or have a read of other blogs created by our members?
Unsure how to get started? Take a look at our help pages on blogs.
It is a great day because I can look forward to coming out of Nadir, low point. Expecting by Tuesday to have some energy.
Lymphoma is so different from other cancers, others do not understand AND I am weary of think that I might help them be informed. Lots to learn. People have their own concerns to work through. We cannot expect they will have time to learn about ours.
Well, we all might learn though HOW to get others to talk about their past experiences so we know who they are...
Well, the last time I posted I was having a major meltdown!!! That was on 30th Jan. Since then I have felt so much better. I am now on day 11 and side effects still keep coming but nowhere near as bad, just sometimes totally unexpected.
On Wednesday (31/1) my daughter took me to M&S for some retail therapy and a coffee. Really great time until you get home and realise how exhausted you are!!
Thursday - nothing much to report, pottering about indoors and knitting.
Friday – again felt quite well...
When I was diagnosed last November, I did get puzzled for a minute but the look in my colleagues put me back and I new exactly what I will do. As a professional counselor I used my environment as a shield. I was so grateful that so many people who knows are worrying so I don't have to worry about it. On my first results I already made a decision to have double mastectomy. I didn't want any immediate reconstruction. As an experienced breast cancer care team I have seen many people having complications...
I’m dashing through this blog post on account of me realising that it is February and my good intention to update this blog more regularly has already failed. No, hold on. We don’t say failed we say…

I have also been channelling this guy: –

No, not on account of my adorable fluffy cuteness but on the fact that I simply CANNOT be punctual.
The reason I am dashing through this post is because I am off this weekend and I was desperate to post something in January (I know it...
Let's just say it was no surprise to get the diagnosis. I had noticed a small change in my left breast a small dent, if you like. If I tensed my muscles it was noticeable, a week or so later it was more noticeable. So off I tottered to the doctors, who sent me to the breast clinic.
Two mammograms and core biopsies later it was confirmed that I had a small Grade 3 cancer which had moved, as far as they were aware at that stage, to the lymph node under my arm. I have had a CT scan...
Glad to not be taking Prednisone every two hours. The weather is bad, and I feel weak. Took Vitamin D. Feeling a little better. Doctor appointment tomorrow. Blood counts feel low based on how I feel.
Labeled a box, "Passions." Need to renew some. My main passion, serving others, seems closed now. I will "Stir up the gifts within me, " but first, seeking to get everything regulated, health-wise.
Hi everyone. Left this blog way to long, yet again!
I’ve had the Mirena in for almost 6 months now which means it’s biopsy time!
My appointment it on 15th February (which makes it exactly 6 months) and I’m having it under general anaesthetic.
I’m feeling fairly positive! I’m hoping if the results are good it can be taken out. It gives me horrible back ache.
For the last few months I’ve had a few days of spotting every 4-5 weeks, and nothing in between so that’s been good. Hopefully it...
As you can see from this picture the graft on my nose is hardly recognisable now and my forehead is covered by my fringe but in actual fact the scar has really faded anyway. I just wanted you all to see my pictures before during and after surgery for those of you who are waiting for or currently going through the same process that i went through 2 years ago and to show you that although at the time its hard to believe but there is actually light at the end of the tunnel.
Sorry for the photos...
Another not very flattering picture of me but one that shows the healing process close up and how good the scars look. This was taken in June 2017 on holiday in Cyprus.
I haven't driven for years and my husband Peter is my car driver. We have gone down the same road and round the small roundabout and long the road to the A10 so many times but now the route has different significance. The route leads to the North Mid Hospital.
I have increasing awareness of the houses, flats, shops trees, traffic, traffic lights taking on new significance. We turn right and pass the school, often parents and children crowding the pavement, cars double parked and..... carry on a bit further...
