Hi all, I first noticed blood in my urine towards the end of June 2026. After 48 hours of continuous blood in my urine, I contacted my GP. She asked me various questions and asked me to drop off a urine sample at the surgery the next day. I did as requested. She rang me later that day to confirm there was blood in my urine and that it needed to be cultured to rule out any infection; in the meantime, she would fast-track me to the one-stop urology clinic for further investigation.
Within 2 weeks, I had a CT scan and cystoscopy, which revealed a "single flat-based papillary TCC, the right UO is free, but the tumour is just on the edge". I had my first TURBT on 30th July '26, followed by a consultation on 14th August '26, where the results of my histology were discussed - "high grade papillary G2 Ta" I had a second TURBT !8th September '26 which was followed up with another consultation with a different consultant on 7th October '26. My results were clear, but he recommended 15 doses of BCG.
I received my first dose of BCG on 27th October '26. The procedure was quick and pain-free. I stayed at the clinic for 2 hours afterwards and was monitored by the same nurse. After 2 hours, I passed urine and was discharged with the dates and times of my next 5 appointments. So far, so good.
