Today was the day I was looking forward to and dreading in equal measure - Results Day.
I had already received a copy of my blood analysis in the post and a couple of results were out with the norms but since I'm not a medical person.....
The doctor told me to turn the page over and look at the tumour markers. It showed 1.8 (should be <5). I said that last time it was 1.6 so did that mean it was going up. He reassured me that you could take that test 5 times in a day and you would get a slightly different result each time and this was a good result. CT scan didn't show anything worrying but I do have a couple of small cysts on my liver which are nothing to worry about.
He said that he is hopeful for me now but admitted that he didn't feel like that at the start. He blew out his cheeks and said it was bad.
Next check up in three months with first B12 injection.
Needless to say I had a little celebratory glass of fizz afterwards.
Feeling relieved and blessed.
Now it's time to enjoy life again.
