I can't believe that I've not posted for such a long time. 7 months, I think.
Its now the start of August 2012, and I've had quite a quiet year so far. Spend from January to June completing my Beauty course at Bridgwater College.....and loving every minute of it, even though I was by for the oldie in the class. It's so nice to be with the young people, their enthusiasm for life and new experiences is very infectious. I'm now very busy with my own home salon under the name of Given...
My husband has deep tougne base cancer.
We were both sucesfull happy workaholics until an unwelcome visitor turned up one day. Some days we do well, it's light and happy and cancer is just a ghost in the background and I get some work done.
Otherdays the demons get him and he hooks me us as his emotional punch bag. I hate these days - he's not even in treatment yet, he starts monday but he's like a hurt animal lurking in the corner looking for someone to savage. On those days all the fun...
Well I have finished my profile for the past 6 years of my life and god it is so long, and so much has happened to me, but I am still here and waiting to see what next lol, Watch this space.
My husband was diagnosed with stomach and liver cancer earlier this year, and I feel my whole world is falling apart. I feel so alone in all of this and am not coping. He is unable to have any treatment regarding the cancers because my husband was already in heart failure, so its just palliative care.I Just feel I should be doing more for him although I give him all the care I can, I find myself constantly asking if he is okay and wishing I could just take all this away. Its awful to watch someone...
Well, hello everyone, have just re-found how to do this! Anyway, hope you are all as well as you can be and enjoying the Olympics. As some of you may know I have been waiting for a reconstruction (DIEP) since Feb. 2011 - it was cancelled 3 times due to the long waiting lists and immediate recons. being done. I had two pre-op assessments and the final pre-op I mentioned I had started to get chest pains and was sure this was down to anxiety. So my surgery was cancelled a fourth time on the spot and...
Well today was a baking day!

Mum is feeling a tad nervous about next week no wonder really, you can kind of live in a...
I am just about to start cycle 3 of my first course of chemo. However I went into AF just after the second cycle. My chemo is irinotecan with fluorouracil (5FU) and folinic acid (FOLFIRI). This is given in course of 12 cycles of 2 weeks. I am also on the monoclonal antibody cetuximab.
I am worried that the AF will stop my chemo. Is there anybody else out here who has had AF whilst on chemo who can share their experiences?
About 3 week ago my dad was diagnosed with secondary bone cancer. he was struggling around the house with me and my sisters and collapsed and was admitted to hospital

HI everyone,
first of all thank you for your questions.
As we said before this is a new idea, so let me know what you think and if it's of any use.
I'll try and answer the questions by username and see how that goes.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear about your mother and hope this is of some help.
Tarceva (erlotinib) has become much more commonly used over the last few years and the way it is being used is always under review. It's difficult for me to be specific to each case...
