Post 544: Eating well and should I sit for the tattoo?

With my back being the worst it’s been for ever and my email to work saying I need this week off sick why would I consider sitting for my new tattoo today? It had crossed my mind that I might feel guilty of wagging work if I can sit in the parlour ok but I also really wanted to get the sleeve started and the wild animals and birds given the freedom of my arm.

Earlier, I had got up with the aches from yesterday still hampering any movement of my head and shoulders with all the pain uppermost in my back. But as I ate my sloppy weetabix and honey I did feel comfortable enough if I was still, which was enough to suggest I should try to keep the appointment with Gary and the Inkers. So I tried.

Getting in the slippery tan coloured barber’s chair I was immediately uncomfortable until I asked for the backrest to be pushed back and with my little padded seat square that now comes with me everywhere with me from the front seat of the car to the cafe or parlour or anywhere, I was sitting comfortably especially as the leg rests came up and I was reclining like a normal person. I am a normal person. I have to tell mused that. I am ok. I am ready. I can get inked today.

Just being excited and ready is not enough to survive the hour I have booked for this tattoo but I’m determined to get through it.

I really wanted this.

And with the complex patterns in the transfer planted on my lower arm we were off.

The rest of the sleeve was marked out in two more paper transfers and my whole arm was covered in blue lines of flora and fauna and the inking started at my wrist. The pain of the needle not enough to make me pull away if I used my will to overcome it and stay put.

In a while the buzz of the machine and the slight pain of the cuts being etched forever into my sleeve I was semi conscious with a sort of hypnotistic feeling of the artist making his art, his art not mine.

In the end your trust in what’s going on is the only thing going through my mind, the trust that the animals are starting to appear on my skin and the Bluey-black outlines are moving I’m up my arm steadily and accurately. I don’t look at my watch nor my phone, I’m totally in the hands literally, of Gary and when he wanted a rest for a ‘large’ fag we stopped a while and I could relieve myself of the nighttime’s water intake, and look at how the wrist to elbow was coming along. It was great, but as an hour or so was gone already I wondered if my hour was being extended because of no more customers or what; but I didn’t ask him, I just hoped he would carry on and on till he couldn’t no more.

Which happened of course but just as I was settling back on the chair and Gary was sucking the last puffs outside there was a pretty little face looking in the window I knew so well.

My Darling with the ever increasing green eyes of envy had walked into town after her hair cut (next door) and come to see me being worked on. It was both lovely to see her and see her smiling with her slightly shorter hair style, but as Gary and she came in chatting away like pals he drew up a seat for her closely the action her eyes were fixed and her mind racing, trying to stand the fact that I was having a tat and she wasn’t, today.

The envy was more like missing out rather than real envy but it was enough to make me smile whist I was in the big chair. I lapped it up and we set off again with the hypnotic inking continuing up my arm.

In the end I could feel that Gary had done enough and with another hour on top of this, next week, it would be fully outlined but only after this session finishing after a cool two and a half hours, unbelievably.

The time flew, the outline grew and my eyes could barely believe how much he covered and how amazing this was looking already.

I lol ed it and after a wrap and a wipe and another wrap of cling film I payed for his time, booked up next Wednesday and headed for the café in the town for a celebratory lunch of ham, eggs and chips with a great dollop of mustard.

My arm was pain free which I wish my back was too but the time this morning was a time that I was not in pain. I had found a lounging position that made no impact on my back pain and was totally out of extra pain. It was perfect. I had chosen right, I had chosen to do a little thing for me, on me, my artwork now, not Gary’s, all mine.

By next week I’ll be outlined and this ‘project’ will be well and truly on its way.

I’m so proud of myself and love this inking that a year ago would not have crossed my mind.

I’m a changed person doing something for myself that hasn’t got to be allowed by someone caring for my welfare. I can have this inky artwork without the authorities stopping me having my fun.

In fact my Darling, the highest authority, has encouraged or supported my creativity and my choice of self expression.

I love it.

The ham and eggs were gone in a flash. I didn’t think I was hungry but I suppose after only expecting one hour of ink yo my arm and receiving 2.5hrs I was now hungry. It was lovely.

All I needed was a few biscuits to wash it down with at home, after washing the sleeve and applying the tattoo and nappy rash cream to my inked bits. It looked sore but I didn’t have any pain so I was dead chuffed as I looked in the mirror admiring my arm. It’s fantastic. It’s forever. It’s a play thing that might mean I can have some fun time in years to come with an unborn son’s son.

I’m overwhelmed with thoughts of the future as a happy time with this extra family member being the center of my new forward thinking. My life has changed so much and it’s all because of a sexual accident giving life to the family tree. How amazing is that?

Later on I had my next-door neighbor lower my ears, as dad used to say, and chatted excitedly while my great bits were being left on the floor carpet in another salon but equally as important to my aesthetic looks. What a tart I am. But a chatty one nonetheless.

My neighbor was as excited about my new tattoo as me and I felt happy to show it off even though it’s not even slightly finished yet.

After the days exploits in self care today I’m so happy I could scream. Scream how happy I am that is. Ha ha.

The day finish with an early night for me as I was tired, proper tired. I had a big day and after reapplying the bepanthal cream I was able to nod off free from frustrations. Even the over arms day and rain showers couldn’t knock the shine off my day. What a day.

I’ll chase the steroids again tomorrow. I’ve tried to contact the GP twice already via the online Accurx triage system, to no avail, but I really need to go back down to the smaller dose or I’ll get to used to the 2mgs I’ve already got. When will they alter the prescription and allow me to follow the directions given by my Hospice Doctor last Monday. A week has passed yet still no theres no change in the dose. Ah well, maybe tomorrow will see a change???

Thanks for reading, I’ve been more solid in my cognitive behaviour today, mostly because of my lack of oramoph this afternoon. If I don’t need it I won’t have it, and this afternoon I sat in the tv chair with my biscuits and the remote with my two peepers on the KDramas I’m enjoying at the present.

So thanks for enduring the last few days where my eyes and mind were unable to concentrate on anything to with the blog and you must have had a hard time understanding me.

Thank you.Pray

Good night, take care, until next time xx
