    More Surgery....

    Hey,

So i had my 12 weekly check up on december 2nd.  They are to carry out more surgery to rectify the left breast.  The cosmetic surgeon is under the impression that the implant has come out of the "skin hammock" and that there may be some fluid behind the implant - the ultra sound didnt pick up any abnormal fluid.

So its back under the knife i go.... they are hoping that itll be january, however with my past experience i am not holding out much hope!

I have started physio now and am...

    Another Hoop To Jump Through...

Well,  just when i thought the weekend was done and dusted last night proved how unpredictable this battle and journey is going to be.  With food completed by midnight, I dosed up on Painkillers and was ready for a reasonable nights sleep.  How naive of me to think I was getting on top of things.  The cancer decided to make another stand, it knows it is almost defeated, eradicated, destroyed but will just not give up, just yet.  And so started the most painful 8 hours I have had to endure yet.  Skip next...

    Another Weekend Almost Done...
As the weekend draws to a close I can now manage to get my nutrition in less that 6 hours through the pump/tube. This will mean I can get some sleep without it after midnight. Most of weekend has been spent either feeling sick, being asleep or being in pain swallowing. Morphine doesn't do much except dry my mouth more, cocodomal helps me sleep and with swallowing for a bit. Tried to force feed a milk shake down via mouth this afternoon - burning sensation of ulcers all around and under my tongue...

  • My BRCA 2 Journey
First post and story so far

About me: I am an ex nurse, now medical Sales Rep. I got divorced earlier this year and have 2 amazing kids. Boy of 10 and girl of 15. I've been through a tough 3 years and I'm finally getting everything in place to move on with my life. That was until a few weeks ago...... Last year I went to the Cancer Genetics clinic and asked to be tested as my Grandmother, her sisters and her brother all passed away with various forms of cancer. Mainly gastric but breast was there too. My granny had breast cancer...

    Counting Down The Millilitres
Into Sunday we go and I have an 'interesting' new pastime. My stomach feed consists of getting 1000ml of nutrition inside me daily via the PEG gastro tube. I have had to start on a low dose (ml/hour) to get the stomach used to it, this was 50 which meant the pump was on for most of the time. I am now up to 150ml per hour which lasts just over 7 hours per evening/night. As I cannot lay flat when being pump fed I really look forward to the dose being complete, having a quick mouth rinse and some more...

    Sickly Saturday
Slowly ramping up the ml per hour on tube intake overnight and now getting a litre into me in about 9 hours. Trouble is I feel sick all night and when I wake up in morning. Throat soreness and intake of pain killers do not correlate, sometimes it's like swallowing razor blades other times the mucus makes it much easier. That said the constant Russian roulette - will it wont it hurt - has seen food intake by mouth stopped, I am trying to keep swallowing sips of water to keep muscles going and make...

Cancer not only messes you up inside but it messes up your mind too. I have not slept in 6 days even though I have taken sleeping tablets and along with my other medication its enough to put an elephant to sleep. Great I'm not normal always said I was different. Wonder if I'm from another planet lol well things don't add up when three places you have lived in get knocked down??????????? ;-) I can't wait for 2013 to end. The last 4 yrs have been total hell for me. 16th February 2009 I had a...
