    Hard Day

Well what can i say today Monday 28th March has been actually quite a hard day.  Clint has been feeling quite low and it doesnt help that he has turned more yellow than normal.

He has been extremely sleepy and itchy, wont stop scratching himself i am frightened that he is going to hurt himself.

Why do i feel selfish by the fact that i feel like crying all the time today it is really hard to see him that way and know that we are still waiting on his treatment starting!!  Hopefully by this time next...

    28 March - Help !!!

Can anyone tell me a good website or company that will give me travel insurance for bowel and liver cancer??

I'm hoping to go away in May for a long weekend to spain for a bit of relaxation at a pal's house but i'm finding it difficult to get any sort of insurance. This is a bit worrying as i'm also meant to be going to Vegas in October too!!. Some on-line companies appear to decline it cos i've two cancers and others it appears to be cos i'm on strong painkillers!!! Any help would be much appreciated...

Terrified and dont know what to expect by the end of the week....!

    Hi to all,

And thanks to all, I've read  a few bogs on your various situations and they have given me some comfort, so thanks everyone xxx

I am one of those women who didnt go back after an abnormal smear result which was 10- 12 years ago, it was only down to my GP's nurse who was checking my wounds after a totaly seperate operation who told me I was well overdue a smear test, bless her she offered to do it there and then, I knew if I had to make an appointment I would probably fail to appear...

    Gardening and CLL on W&W

    Hi all

Into my third week of the garden, I am thinking of its effects on me. The first reality is that I am not as capable as last time round, but I am feeling better for the effort. This week I suffered my first backlash from the disease, bone and joint issues reacted badly to some of the exertion and has put me off my feet for several days at a time.

I have taken on board the advice from other CLL patients and wear gloves, wide brimmed hat and factor 30 sunscreen, this will help counter...

Losing friends, support and not fitting in

Last year I met up with another woman nearby who also has secondary breast cancer. This was really nice for me as she was nearer to my age, we both have children and found lots of common ground. We met a few times for coffee and a chat and at last I felt I had someone to confide in who really understood me.  Well in January she got some bad news on a scan and told me she was going on chemo again but wouldnt tell me about her scan. I sent her some flowers to cheer her up and let her know I am here...

    a year

My boy has been in remission for a year im so so proud of him he is such a trooper and i love him so much. He still gets very tired and white when he has over done it im just wondering how long it will take for him to go back to the way he was. Brandon was a typical wee boy running around all day and night without stopping now he goes out for 10 minutes and comes in as white as a sheet and exhausted and it breaks my heart everytime. I am grateful that he is better but i just wish he could do things...

    My Lovely Wife Julie 11

The Onc did an examination on Tuesday and Julie was on the table again on Friday.  This time they gave a 2 minit Radio blast to an area of the rib cage adjacent to the original T10 spine site.  This time the Onc didn't even bother to XRay or CT scan - I suppose she just knows what to expect.

Just when we were starting to get a bit mobile, Julie is having to cope with the side effects of Radio Therapy again.

With a bit of luck, when the weather picks up, we will be out and about again.

    Positive thinking

Feeling quite positive today, decided the only way to tackle this thing for both mine and mums sake is to take it day by day.  Mum looked so much better yesterday.... She is hoping they will let her out of hospital today, I hope so she will feel so much better at home. Big op on 3rd May we will tackle that one then.

    New Journey

Well after the appointment with Dr Fyfe on Wednesday we found out that Clint requires to get another biopsy and a bone marrow thing done too many technical names for my liking.

    Friday 25.03.11

What a day I took Clint down to the hospital at 10am this morning and went through to the Medical Day Unit where all sorts of treatments take place and that was  avery scary thing to see all those people sitting their getting treatment or waiting for scan or biopsies. The Doctor came in and spoke with Clint...
