Post 530: We watched the tv till the cows came home.

What was always going to be a lazy day ended up a really lazy day and no mistake. But if I recall a moment of yesterday’s goings on, I think the cat would have something to say about my memory.

In fact I forgot to mention it on the blog yesterday but I was full of other stories weren’t I?

But when Paul and I got back from our eggs Benedict and my toastie we had a cuppa and a de-brief but looking back I now remember that the kitchen to conservatory patio doors were still shut and locked. What this means is that I didn’t feed the cat first thing in the morning. Oops!  Poor pussy.

I happen to know that while he was chatting to me this morning, Mr Vicious forgave me and let me off with a warning about ringing cat-line if there’s ever another reoccurrence of the fiasco yesterday with the sad lack of food for his breakfast.

Moving on to this fine morning, the first thing I did was to fill the blue cat bowl with his favourite hypoallergenic dry-food. Then gave him the run of the house as a gift he doesn’t normally get and especially because he didn’t dob me in to the higher authority, ha ha.

From then on it was business as usual as my four legged friend took up residence on my lap and life was back to normal.

The other thing I forgot to mention was that a pal of mine was at home to greet me when I got back from Boots after the 1.5 hr wait for the wrong pills. The thing was that I didn’t remember that he was coming, all I saw was a biggish  tipper lorry netted over the back side grills like a recycling lorry would look like.

I drew up on a bit of my short double drive, the bit that wasn’t covered by a bloomin’ big lorry that I though was probably someone cheekily using my drive as a holding spot due to it being stacked out with cars at the top of the close and there’s been plenty of building work over the road, but I wasn’t having it…

For the first time in this new car of my Darlings I pressed and held that horn down in a rash and angry manner I was not usually used to. But as nothing came of it I the first irate blast I gave it some more of that new horn. It was if I wanted to wear that horn out.

The next thing that happened was a couple of neighbours popped out of their homes to see what was going on with the idiot and his horn and saw my red ugly/angry face and wondered why a normally happy and content guy was so pissed off, to put it bluntly.

The neighbour’s turned their heads to my front door that was hidden from view due to an evergreen bush obscuring the my direct view and it wasn’t till our kind and generous guest arrived in my view the penny dropped…

Oh my Lordy Lordy. What was I like? My impatience and anger at Boots carried over to my final destination where my pal with his new tipper lorry was waiting for me to arrive home and take away my trailer and a ‘duff’ electrical oil filled portable heater for recycling; but that was not now on the cards as he scuttled by my now open passenger side window as he made a bee-line for his huge lorry and off home out of the way of this irate mate. Me.

Well, before he legged it we quickly made plans for “tomorrow” as I back-peddled so fast I nearly disappeared up my own pair of jeans-shorts; if you know what I mean.

Now I had some apologising to do to him and the neighbours for real, about my diabolical behaviour.

What I didn’t know then was that the two little pills I had to wait so long for were the old prescription and were useless to me, unless I had multiples of four (to make up the 2mg dose per day) but knowing that would have only made things worse to be honest.

So that was yesterday and later on today, in the afternoon, I heard a knock on the door and my pal was back to pickup my rubbish for recycling.Recycle️ I was overly glad to see him and I made plenty of apologetic comments and gestures while he seemed happy to take my rubbish.

We locked the trailer onto his lovely new tipper lorry and soon after a long happy chat he was on his way.

I haven’t seen the neighbours to apologise to them yet, but I will.

The hospice called to say they had made corrections by email to the GP surgery and Boots pharmacy so the correct dose of steroid aught to be supplied very soon.

I rang Boots just before they closed at 17:30 but they hadn’t any new prescription yet. Usual story!

Oh well I have a couple of 2mgs steroid pills from last time, so I can go into Boots casually tomorrow and get the 0.5mg pills - which will be ok if I quadruple-up the dose, for now.

Oh what a dull day I had. Somedays are like that especially dull after the busy day yesterday with all its twists and turns.

My Darling and I had a quiet evening in front of the tv and rested up.

I wonder what will happen tomorrow?

Resting my back is essential tomorrow as today I twisted it and hurt it again. Even the larger dose of oramorph is not helping the pain in my back, but I didn’t think that it would. My personal opinion is that the 2mgs of steroids forever will be just what I need. I hope I’m right and the continued confidence I have in my Hospice doctors is met out with a pain free back before too long.

We went to bed after watching the British bake-off which calmed our thoughts and set us up for bed. We had a few laughs along the way, I fact the programme is building on us.

“Deep breaths” will (as you all say) keep me as right as rain (coincidentally ‘Rain’ is forecast tomorrow for the first time in forever) and as you also say, “the rich tapestry” of life is exactly what it is.

Oh, and I’m drawing the conclusion that my Darlings over imaginative mind is creating a diagnosis of my back pain which is, in her view, caused by the cancer.

I’m not of the same mind and will, now I know how she feels, do something about it and calm her thoughts which are dragging her down mentally.

I don’t feel that way as all my pain is in the muscles, because there is no pain if I sit still, if I can.

Anyway, I thank you for continuing to read my blog and for all your comments. I do love reading them. Thank you.

Take care and sleep when you can.
