Well here I am living with incurable cancer this is so surreal yet so real! I only had the panic attacks and total fear for about two weeks after being told, I suppose you could say I was lucky in that respect. I woke up one morning two weeks after being told and the panic had gone, I was at peace, don't know how it happened but it did. I was now on a mission to fight this disease and to live my life like I should have been living it for that last 50 years!
I have researched how I can help...
Right up the moment he died, I still held out hope that he would come round and beat the cancer.....and then he went, surrounded by our children and three of our grandchildren and I was holding his hand.
What to do now.... not in practical terms, but how do I begin to believe it and function on any level. The pain is raw, I am getting worse, bursting into tears the minute I wake from a drug induced sleep, following myself around the house, forgetting what I am supposed to be doing.

I am fine, and feel like I am coping much better, but this big shadow hanging over us all does bring me down sometimes. I almost feel guilty for going out and having fun, and am on the edge of tears some days. Andy took me to the pub last night and we drifted into a discussion about the current situation and how we were all feeling,...

I've always been that way though and I can't change now I've got terminal lung cancer with various mets around my body. I just can't bite my tongue sometimes especially at work when people have had time off for headaches a cold where they force a sneeze about once at work or they loudly blow their nose to show just how ill...
Just coming to the end of a 23 day "rest period" and start back on chemo tablets on Good Friday - so I will be asleep for most of Easter. I will have a mri scan this Thursday to see how things are going. Looking forwards to hearing the result - which hopefully will be positive. If not, I will just have to deal with it. You can be a control freak, but there are things you can not control.
