    Image correction

It seems I have made some minor errors with the pictures last time! As cute as Wall-E is, I suspect he is not a surgeon.

As an aside, I can't believe some people don't know who Wall-E is! I'm sad for you!

Right, enough silly Disney pictures. :)

Here is the actual machine. It's called a Da Vinci. I'm not 100% sure they will use this, but the surgeon did mention it. To be honest, I think it looks ****ing terrifying!

Sort of spidery. And we all know how much I love spiders...

    Rollercoaster of emotions...

    Hi all,

So blogging really helped me yesterday when I was at such a low point...and receiving such heart warming, lovely comments offering advice and sharing experiences really did help me & I hope it helped others too.

So after my breakdown yesterday morning where I could not stop crying...I wrote my blog post...got it all out...then pulled myself together. I booked in an appointment to register our notice of marriage on february 13th. We will look to get married in March I think...

Gosh..so this it what normal feels like!

I’m in my ‘good week’ of my three week chemo cycle…well… usually its about a week but this cycle its been foreshortened by the stinky cold that lingered and lingered.

Yesterday I felt quite chipper and was booked in for a PETCT scan down in Cambridge. The mobile unit that in the leaflet looked to be parked in a green and pleasant land turns out to be in a car park at Addenbrookes hospital. They inject you with radioactive glucose (even the syringe is lead...

    Loosing independence
Hi everyone so many of us seem to be going through really tough times . Reading all your stories while lying here in the Beatson Cancer Centre makes me realise how lucky I am. I forget sometimes that many of you are coping with far more difficult situations than I. My heart goes out to you all, to many names to mention but I think of you all every day......I have had a good hat with my consultant each of the last two weeks as I have gone from walking around holding on to my wife, ok with a couple...

    Struggling to accept...

I'm going to start at the very beginning as I feel like I need to get everything out & i'm hoping by doing this it will help me and others in my position...

My wonderful dad is 65 years old. I am 27. I've always been incredibly close to my parents. My fiance and I have always spent lots of time with my mum & dad...something I am very grateful of now. But still...it does not feel like anywhere near enough time. There is still so much I want to do and experience with my dad. None of this...

    4 Feb Operation

    Hi all,

I spoke to the doctor today and it seems like they are still going to to the lymphectomy and examination under anaesthetic (EUA) on the 4th.

It seems the second opinion didn't pass muster at the multi-disciplinary meeting, and it is still being treated as invasive cancer. Boo Hisss... is all I can say.

Anyway, I got a full run-down of this operation last week at the Marsden. It will be robotic and laproscopic. Which means it will be done using a remote controlled machine, and via small...

    Jan 28th - moving along

It's 9 days now since the op and the stitches seem to have settled down; the gel stuff they put over them is still in place but some stitches poke through so I've been going commando since I stopped using gauze pads and needing knickers to hold it in place.

I've an appointment with the surgery nurse to remove the stitches this Friday, and a confirmed outpatient appointment with the surgeon for Feb 6th so I guess he will have got the histology results by then.  There's a 'gone' feeling...

    Ongoing Treatment

68 year old maleGBM4, right temporal lesion.

I am just coming to the end of the first of the follow on chemo treatments, ie 5 days tablets, 25 days off. I collect the next round of tablets on Thursday and also having the first MRI scan to see how things are going on inside my head.

The one affect of the chemo and radiology that had not been mentioned anywhere was the generation of gas in my stomach. This cause extensive belching and passing wind. At times my stomach becomes very bloated and...
