    Here we go again!
MRI tomorrow to get a better look at 2 new lesions in my liver. I had successful RFA on liver lesion in Aug last year, keeping fingers crossed it will be possible again. This is the 5th time, adrenocortical cancer is relentless. I'm beginning to feel terribly alone. Has anyone out there any idea how I'm supposed to deal with this?

    Radial scar removed
The radial scar has been removed, replaced by a 10cm horizontal scar. It was such a relief to get the surgery over with, Wednesday 23rd January was a very long day, hospital running late so I did not get into theatre until 5.30 which was the time they were expecting to discharge me. The Consultant said to me, don't worry you will have your operation today, I was relieved to hear this as I'd had a wire put in at 10 that morning. The operation took about an hour, the general anaethetic was fine...

  • Oesophageal Cancer - the truth
    Where am I?
Eating hasn't been great. Feeling like shit. Ate a banana yesterday and was sick for over an hour as it wouldn't go down and I'm depressed about that. Had some minced shepherds pie later which wasn't too bad and then had a few drinks to try to relax. Think things are playing on my mind as I had to go for an MRI scan on Tuesday as it has got worse since I finished the only 6 rounds of chemo that I can have back in October. Now waiting to find out what is going on. It has got me to thinking about...

    2013 - and stable

Sorry about the gap between posts. Where was I? Part-way through a course of chemotherapy for CUP (cancer of unknown primary) in chest and throat lymph nodes ... and I suddenly realised it's been four months of treatment, and a right drag at that. I think I've been fortunate. I've had a lot of tiredness and aches, but no nausea. And at the beginning of 2013, it feels good to be alive and otherwise well. (I was well aware of the worst scenario - unslowable - with CUP).

    This week I had...

  • My Amazing Dad
    Finding it so hard...

Well yesterday was certainly one of those days....I held it in all day then Marc (my fiance) met me from work and I just cried my heart out. Marc is amazing...he held me, cuddled me, wiped my tears and reassured me. I managed to calm down after saying how i didn't feel like i was doing enough & I was worried about not giving my dad the right sorts of food to eat...and Marc said he would come food shopping with mum and I on Saturday & he would help cook some stuff for my dad...so that...

    Chemo number 4

I quite enjoyed today... if such a thing is possible. I took myself off to my chemotherapy, with a bottle of water and a book I wanted to finish (One Man and his Bike by Mike Carter if you're interested..it made me laugh out loud and spit sandwich on my knee). I got a corner chair, took my boots off and settled down cross legged. The cancer specialist nurse came to tell me the PET scan looked pretty good, still some activity but given the size of the original tumour thats to be expected...

  • Chronic Lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL)
    The Macmillan on-line CLL community,

I was Diagnosed with CLL at 47 while investigating the cause of other more pressing issues and remain untreated today, I believe this may be the case for a while.  Learning and spending time with others with CLL here and at group meetings has encouraged my passion to share information and support with people experiencing the specific challenges diagnosis and living with CLL brings.

ARE YOU AFFECTED BY CLL OR ITS SUBTYPES?

  • I want answers

Why can't I seem to get answers. My lovely husband was struck down with osephagal cancer in september. He had 3 cycles of EOX chemo. By november he seemed to be getting back to his old self. Then over xmas he started to get ill again. Had CT scan the little blighter had targeted his liver, where it was a little bit it was getting worse. his tummy swelled up like his was 9 months pregnant (now that would be an immaculate conception). He had ascites (fluid in the tummy) they put in a drain and drained...

  • Cancer has returned
    Angry husband

2011 valentines night my husband collapsed and was rushed to hospital, after tests he was diagnosed with kidney cancer. after his operation he seemed to recover well and his spiits seemed high.

Today it appears that the cancer has returned, i say appears as he hides all letters from the hospital and doctor, will not let me know when appointments are. He reasoning is that i let him down last time and did not support him, so he intends to hide it all this time.

I did support him as best i could,...

  • My Amazing Dad
    Feeling negative...must stay strong

Well today is going to be one of THOSE days I think. Woke up this morning and like every morning my poor dad was the first thing on my mind. We saw him last night & hearing him coughing so much & seeing him fall asleep so easily on the sofa & catching him lost in his thoughts...is so so so hard. It scares me how these symptoms seem to be coming out more now...he said he has been itching in the night which worries me as I worry he is going to develop jaundice. His skin doesn't look yellow...
