so I havnt filled in the details of the surgery yet, I may or may not do a catch up ( memory is fading, bit like you forget the worst of giving birth - for me anyway.)
I am cancer free, it has been cut out and gone, according to surgeon.
today, I still have a dressing on my boob, the scar has not completely gone, there is a huge black scab? that needs to fall off, if it was a normal scab on my knee for instance i would have picked away at it, just as well as the dressing is still there.
I didnt realise...
I'm highly worried at the moment. I'm 24 and a mum to a 4 year old and a 2 year old.. but I'm looking for any help support and guidance that's possible about there as I'm scared out of my wits... around 3/4 years ago I had a lump develop on my right jaw line I thought it could probably be a abscess or something so I kinda left it for a while thinking it would burst and empty itself and go away but then I got worried as it used to hurt and it was very hard and it was noticeable on the side of my face...
I was diagnosed in April, and have been taking a hormone drug 400 mg per day since. Feel better generally, but good days and bad days.
Hello again friends
After a short time away, I thought I would put in a blog post, to share our journey so far
hope you have been all well in the meantime xx
Since my last post, my love Pannie has had two tests. Please excuse the simple way I write this! Im learning fast though
Pannie had a tissue biopsy of the gland in his lung which we were told was swollen 'a little like tonsils would be swollen with tonsillitis' They came back, and we were told the test was inconclusive
A couple of days...
I still have memories from an early childhood, the anxieties I suffered in primary school, the terrible lows I experienced in my teens, without even telling my family because of the shame I felt, until eventually the culmination of a nervous breakdown at the age of 41, incurring other incapacitating ailments throughout the years, until recently receiving another diagnosis. So many of us suffer from illnesses we most likely wish we could do without but we learn to cope with them in our own ways, more...
I know that over the next few months, during this intensive treatment, there will be many ups and downs. I will probably see many changes in myself both emotionally and physically.
I no doubt, will have very 'wobbly' days when I will feel very upset and overwhelmed. I used to feel guilty for feeling this way as I know I have been told that the aim is to 'cure' me and to remain cancer free. I know there are many fellow patients out there who are in a much worse situation with their health and...
I can't deny that since Thursday, it's been awful. Now I know that the diagnosis and the 2 operations were a breeze compared to what is happening now. On Friday I felt high with energy, I believe it was the steroids, soon to wear off. On Saturday I started feeling slightly feverish, sore throat and aching arms, I was so tired. We were taking my husband out for a lunch and I know if I mentioned I was unwell, he would not have gone. The girls were looking so much to celebrating Father's Day and his...
Hello Guys.
First of all I would like to say how helpful I have found the Macmillan community. You are a wealth of useful information and helped to put my mind at ease on a number of occasions.
My partner was diagnosed with stage 3 TC in April. It came as a bit of a shock as he is only 28, but we now know its most common in younger men. I wanted to share our experience in case there are any points covered that may help others.
He had a fairly late diagnosis, having done what far too many people do and...
I have been told today that dad wants to stop working. I agree he needs to as he is so tired all the time but I know what it means. It's the start of the end.
There is no going back.
He will loose his business that he has built and me and my husband will be the only ones bringing in an income. So stressful is an understatement. I just don't know what we will do. I wish so much that he wasn't suffering- but he is.
Dad isn't the sort of person to stop working...
Only the best dads get promoted to granddad I was informed by a novelty coaster a couple of weeks ago.

It’s my fifth Fathers’ Day since I lost my dad so the email onslaught from late May telling me dad’s special and I should treat him comes as no surprise now. I swipe left to delete and barely give them a second thought. But now social media has got in on the act with images of gifts infiltrating...
