Post 561: We’re off to bed at 4am after binging Police Interceptors.

Is five episodes of Police Interceptors an acceptable way to end a lovey night after getting home from my Big Sis and Brother-in-law’s home where we enjoyed a big chicken lasagne dinner (with garlic bread) and a beautiful lemon (not so) sweet topped with thick cream and slices of golden kiwi fruit.

We were all full up after such a wondrous evening of eating and chatting and there was a treat afterwards in the hands of my Bro-in-law, namely spinning some LP’s and allowing the chatting to continue. We went after my Darling asked what it was that they were doing this weekend and found out that we should have asked earlier to let Sis get to bed because she’s working tomorrow and gets up at 6am.

We left soon after 10pm after both sides of a Pink Floyd album, a progressive rock landmark if you like that sort of thing, which I certainly do.

I drove home, as my Darling was tired and in no mood for the foggy roads, so I drove. All in a days work for me, and luckily we didn’t see any deer around two roundabouts north of the town where they normally congregate and put the fear of god into one’s eyes and the amount of accidents of deer vs car makes the trip that more dangerous this time of year.

Culling has ended and the deer paddocks are growing thus there is much discussion about what to do with them, the numbers of deer free to roam in the woods.

I creaked out of the car when we got home and the guessing game started to find out why my ribs and back are so easy to upset. It’s more like I have very bad muscle decay which makes it easy to damage the weakened muscle around my rib-cage. I think I should leave well alone but as it’s a natural thief.h

I got comfy in the lounge seat and had water close by to make a lovely cup of Earl Grey and I started on some golden teddy Haribo’s and chocky biscuits for my post-driving relaxation; but I didn’t ever plan on a five hour binge.

But, we had time to rewrite the cake ingredients list for the five Christmas fruit cakes needed for the family this year. I can’t wait for the baking to start.

Reading the replies on the blog it easy to see that 90 degrees in the desert is a wonderful temperature proving that a holiday can expand the mind and relive the tensions of UK life especially now the temperature has plummeted and the central heating will be warming the cockles of most people right now.

I fear that the cold weather is here to stay and my aching ribs too. But most of my day is at full tilt with enjoyment and laughter found anywhere and every where, as Millibob says not only will I bounce back quickly and stronger after a knock I will also laugh heartily with the help of meds and counselling and my Darling by my side.

It’s attitude I need most now, something that helps me and my shadow every moment of every day.

And as a final positive thought today, the advocacy for the NHS prescriptions are now settled into a service that works well. So I can’t complain.

My Darling lost 2lb this week and that is a perfect weight for her and her smile is testament to hard work and allows us to have dinners fit for a king and wiggle room too. The tuna and salmon might be a weekend treat but my darling deserves it.

Thanks for sharing my dribbles and sniffles and I hope you all stay fit while the bugs make their way around us.

Oh, and by the way my Darling is well recovered from the cold she had.

Good night and take care
