    Surgery after Hormone therapy

    H,

Prior to making my decision for PC treatment I was put onto HT.  I asked the open surgery consultant who prescribed this treatment if this would effect any choice in future treatments and was told it wouldn't.

On my second visit to see the Robotic consultant, I booked in for surgery under him, however when I informed him that I had been on HT for some weeks he said it could make it ''Sticky''.

Has anyone had any experience of Robotic surgery following HT. ...

    The new me!

Oh well, my hair has all but gone! I have gone from having an extremely thick head of hair that I have always loved, to having spindly little wisps of straggly, thin, dead looking hair. My scalp shows through everywhere, although I have no actual patches, as it has come out very evenly. I am so sad, but I had resigned myself to the fact that it was going, so I am okay. I have had my wig on all day and the smile I wore was just as fake, but everyone believed it and that's what matters. I took it off...

    Bacon, Kleenex, Cars and Sand.......

    Hello all

I am writing to you whilst scoffing bacon sandwiches, lovingly made by Mr H, and watching Homes Under the Hammer (one of my secret pleasures).

I'm sorry that the last blog was so bleak.  It was a blog that was already written it just hadn't been published.  It was always the most likely option being that miracles in my world seem to be highly lacking lately.

I told you we were going to go to Scarborough to visit my Dad, Step Mum and the oldest two Hunters as they are on holiday there...

    Brain met and steriods
    1. The Hi all newbie here , just wondering if anyone has been or going through a situation like mine . My mum who is 62 had a funny turn in January 2017 ( stroke like symptoms ) she was diagnosed with a brain tumour after tests they knew this was a secondary with unknown primary . She had the brain met removed in Feb 2017 about 98% of it and was to start srs 3 months later . She remained on dexametasone (steriods) in the meantime Feb- June she started getting fractures to her back and swelling to...

    My first post cycle review!

I have my Oncology appointment today at 12:45! I am so nervous, worried of what she will say, frightened that she will take one look at the last two weeks and say that my body can't cope with this. I want this cancer attacked with everything they can throw at it, I want it to suffer as much as it possibly can, to shrivel and be eaten up by my body, as opposed to it eating me! I can feel a marked difference in the shape and size of the main lump and I can't even feel the lump under my arm anymore...

  • My eyelid skin cancer journey.
Second thoughts at 4 in the morning.

Another night wakening. Have I done the right thing? I definitely should have asked more questions. The outcomes I particularly wanted to avoid at the outset of treatment for my BCC were: a watery eye, a droopy eyelid, an eyelid that turns out showing its red rim. I specifically run the risks of all these developing as my eyelid contracts through the healing process. Except that I have already got a watery eye. The risk of losing some more of my eyelashes prior to surgery was described as a small...

  • My eyelid skin cancer journey.
    Good news.

    My 3rd operation appointment.

In the event I have been very lucky indeed. I turned up for surgery today. I'd been told that if further tissue had to be removed as well as the eyelid reconstruction, I'd be there all afternoon. I was prepped ready for surgery: blood pressure taken, hospital wrist bracelets on, allergies noted and then a doctor came in and took a look at my eyelid. I learnt that the lab results were clear. Then the consultant looked at my eyelid and said it had healed so well that...
