    Goods Syndrome and thymoma
Another two weeks in Addenbrooke's, just to follow up the first 6 weeks earlier this year. Ward D10 this time - every bit as extraordinary as D9 was the first time. The word 'extraordinary' seems a natural fit with Addenbrooke's. If there is anyone reading this who has thymoma I strongly suggest asking your Oncologist about the chances of having Goods Syndrome as an uninvited guest (this can be caused by thymoma due to the link with the thymus gland). A simple blood test is all it takes. Prior...

  • Waiting for breast excision results
Excisional biopsy yesterday new to forum
Hi I am completely new to these forums and have never posted before but I'm hoping for some advice or just to listen to other peoples experiences. I had an excisional biopsy yesterday under general to remove a lump in my right breast. Three weeks ago I had an fna and the results came back as inadequate and so my consultant decided to have it removed. I am obviously worrying and to make things worse whilst they where removing the lump they found an extra bit at the side that was attatched to the chest...

  • Worried...
It's been a while since I've been on. I have had a left axillary lymph node removal... Quite a scar! Testing for lymphoma. I go back on the 29th. The op was the 9th august. My scar seems to be healing well, but think there's some nerve damage as I get sharp shooting, stabbing pains going into the breast. My boob is so painful! Anyway... What I'm worried about is under my arm... About inch and half from my scar, my skin looks 'puckered'.... Like it's been pulled from inside...pinched from under...

    Day 4

Sorry for not updating my blog, this week has gone by in a daze of Doctors appointments, family visits and replying to a heap load of messages from friends around the world....I never knew I was so popular! Haha!

Well, I'm due to see my Consultant next week and will also have an MRI scan to see if the cancer has spread to other areas of my body...I'm keeping everything crossed this is not the case.  In less than two weeks time, my genitals will look completely different to how they've looked...

    Mood Swings

I am normally a happy person, despite the stress and fear that cancer bursts into your life, I still try and hold on to as much optimism as I can. But it is hard, it is too difficult to be happy all of the time, to not be afraid, to not be angry at the cards I have been dealt over the past four years. I hate that chemotherapy can mean that a day where I feel happy, genuinely happy can turn on it's head so quickly and I find myself sat screaming into a cushion in tears for no reason. Countless times...

    4 Months On

It's been a long time since I last posted. It's been 4 months since Grandma passed away and life is slowly getting back to normal (whatever normal is mind you!)

My birthday was hard, no card off Grandma was hard to deal with. She would also call me for a chat, I missed that so much this year. I know everyone will feel this for their birthdays and Christmas this year. I also missed not being able to tell her I was an ambassador for London 2012, she would have loved my pink outfit! I'm sure...

Having a bit of a moan!

Waiting for my next lot of chemo.  Trying to get it at my local hospital but doctor want's me to go to Bart's, where I have been before and they were all very helpful and very nice, but I have to get the train and travel on the tube.  I'm not great with trains in the rush hour (that's mostly when my appointments are) all those people crushed together.  I'd been to Bart's for a PET SCAN one time, it makes you radioactive and you must not get near children or pregnant women. Well I had...

    BAD NEWS

    DAY 2

By 10 am we had stillnot heard from the hospital about my husband's test results and when we could go and discuss them. My husband phoned the hospital and was told he had been transferred to a different consultant and that a letter had been sent with an appointment for 3rd September!

Appointment ? they had said we could go to the endoscopy ward for a chat. I then phoned the ward as I got no joy speaking to the consultants' secretaries. We now are seeing the new consultant onFriday at 9...
