Excisional biopsy yesterday new to forum

1 minute read time.
Hi I am completely new to these forums and have never posted before but I'm hoping for some advice or just to listen to other peoples experiences. I had an excisional biopsy yesterday under general to remove a lump in my right breast. Three weeks ago I had an fna and the results came back as inadequate and so my consultant decided to have it removed. I am obviously worrying and to make things worse whilst they where removing the lump they found an extra bit at the side that was attatched to the chest wall? The consultant had previously said she thought it was a fibroedenoma but I thought these where mobile? Also -and I'm sure I'm just being paranoid- she told me prior to op that I would get a letter with results if clear but if further treatment required etc I would get an appointment to see her again then after surgery she told me I would get an appointment through to see her to discuss the results- do you think she knew something already? Sorry to go on lol I'm reading into everything !!! I am 33 have two little girls 3 and 7 and sadly lost my mum to breast cancer last June aged 59 within 10 months of diagnosis she previously had it at 51. Any words of advice greatly received thank you xxx

    Hello Jah,

I am sorry that you have found yourself here but this is a marvellous place to be for help and support - it's understandable how worried you are feeling just now, we have all been through much the same one way or another.

Now as I am in a different cancer group I don't have much knowledge about breast cancer, so it would be better if you did this post in the Breast Cancer group too ( which I think you have already joined ) as this will most likely be spotted better and there are some lovely ladies there who will help and advise you. Take care and all best wishes to you.

I understand completely that time between biopsy and result is awful one minute your sure you have it next minute your sure you havent. I kept wanting to talk about it feeling I was getting on peoples nerves and feeling guilty about it ha ha then ide ask what they thought knowing well they didnt know bless them. I had fibroadenoma diagnosed at 37yrs in 2009 lump got bigger had mammagram ultrasound biopsy and consultant said he was 80% 80% what ??? and do i have any questions. Umm i dont know what to ask i thought and wanted to get up and run away anyway eventually somebody asked the cancer question and he said yes but he would have to wait for path results. I dont remember much between leaving the room and sitting in the car park saying what the hell am i going to do about work lol. so yes my love the time inbetween is an awful roler coaster ride of emotion. My result was as the consultant suspected but heres to hoping yours are negative. Im sorry about your mum i lost my mum at the age of 61 to cancer.  I hope it turns out ok for you xxxxxxxx with love lopseygoldwig
