On my 2nd mug of coffee and I'll start getting ready to go to the Christie in about 30 minutes. I'm starting to feel anxious, but I don't know if that's the prospect of sitting in the waiting room today or the treatment itself next week.
I don't want to go there, I don't want my weekend disturbed by a stranger, the district nurse, coming into my home. BF will be there of course but I can see myself being on tenterhooks until he/she gets there and staying unsettled for the whole weekend...
My sister, Michelle (aged 46) has a life expectancy of <6 months. Before she becomes really ill, I would like to try and fulfil some of her wishes. Apart from www.honeyrosefoundation.org.uk Does anyone know of any UK charities that are willing to help
Hump Day! LOL!
I was in a hurry to get to the hospital this morning so I just grabbed a coffee and banana and stuffed a bag of S & S crisps in my bag along with the dextrosol. Unfortunately I splooshed a tad too much milk in my coffee so I'll go without tonight. Swings and roundabouts. On the way back I dropped in at B&Q and then my GP to pick up my prescription.
I got home around 12 and decided I was hungry and wanted a big lunch. After running around all morning I deserved it.
Chicken...
We had an appointment today with Mr ENT. I wasn't overly concerned either as H has continued to progress each week and with little sign of any set backs. So it was ok sitting in the waiting room and my stomach managed to behave itself. It normally turns and churns and adds a feeling of nausea to it just to make it interesting but today it was well behaved.
Mr ENT had a good grope around H's neck and a good rummage in his still very sore mouth but was happy with his progress. We had the full...
This morning I was back on bananas with rice cakes for breakfast. I know, any moment I'll start singing "Tradition" from Fiddler on the Roof as well.
Right now I'm waiting for a phone call from the Christie to tell me where I need to be on Thursday and when, and the same again for Monday. I mustn't forget to ask what time the District Nurse is coming to give me the injection(s) at the weekend. I'm not sure if it's one or two needles, but I don't want to be slug-abed when he/she arrives...
Today is officially "Hump Day" of the diet but it probably won't feel like that until Wednesday. I started by phoning my GP and sorting out my next fit note and prescription. My fit note expires next Monday - the day I'm due to go in to the Christie, and I'll run out of Lyrica the week after next when I might still be confined indoors.
Next I spoke to the marvellous Debbie at the Christie as I've still not had my appointment letter. And Debbie must be a marvel or, at least,...
The days are fine, litterally no rain for 24 hours! And my pains become less with each day. Today we did our weekly supermarket shop and I was walking almost normally with only a trace of limp. Yesterday I walked around the village and riverfront areas for almost an hour. By the end my legs were tired but today they seem stronger as the result of the exercise. My daytime tablets for pain relief are now down to a half or less of what they were.
By contrast the nights are still very disturbed. My...
