Now bearing in mind 3 years earlier samples of my lung were sent off to a pathologist in Dublin because they were confusing and that turned out to be lung cancer, set alarm bells ringing but still pushed it to the back of my mind. I found out Christmas Eve it was definitely a cancer measuring 4cm. Not the best Christmas present I have received :) They finished the job they started in January and as I said before am now awaiting RAI.
In some respects I feel this path has been rockier than with...
It was 5 weeks yesterday since I had surgery to complete a total thyroidectomy but almost 8 months since it all began. After having a few falls my GP thought it was best to send me for a MRI scan just to make sure I hadn't had a small stroke ( I had a stroke 16yrs ago ). Anyway to cut a long story short, it has been proved I actually do have a brain but it also picked up a small cyst on my thyroid, that was June 2013.
I was reassured that it was a cyst but they thought it was wise to send...
I feel happier today but apprehensive. The district nurse is coming to give me the first of two thyrogen injections this morning. I don't know exactly what time but between 10am and midday. BF is still asleep. I'm not sure if I told him that I want him to be there when she/he comes but I'll take him a brew at 10 and hope that helps wake him up enough. He's not exactly a morning person.
It's an intramuscular injection, like my insulin, but it has to be delivered in a specific way in...
Well, I still have a kind of depression hangover from yesterday, not helped by my GP forgetting to put my anxiety on my fit note as well as my cancer. It probably just slipped his mind but the DWP get picky about things like that. So guess what, I got even more anxious! BF is helping me sort it out today but I feel as though I have a big tangled ball of yarn where my brain ought to be, I've had three cups of coffee this morning. I probably should have eaten breakfast but I couldn't whip up the enthusiasm...
Given the worst news ever last November that my dad had terminal cancer of the Gall Bladder and into his liver after no warning no illness he just turned yellow. We went before Christmas to his Oncologist who thought dad was a good candidate for chemo and if everything went well could have possibly another 8 months. We had an amazing Christmas making wonderful memories and are grateful for this time.Middle of January Dad took a turn for the worse and 3 days before his chemo was due to start caught...
I'm trying not to get too excited, but it's hard not to celebrate right now (and I'm not resisting - sitting here by the fire drinking wine!). My husband and I travelled up to Christie's today to hear the results of the CT scan I had last week, at the mid-point of my 6 months of chemo. And the news is very good: I have three marker enlarged lymph nodes: one in my neck, one between the spine and the aorta, and the third is the left common iliac node (in my pelvis). Well, the one in...
