  • 8 and a half weeks into recovery from RT - things feeling much better

    It's a while since I updated this blog .... we had a week away in Cornwall and I have now started to feel as though I am regaining some energy. My mood has definitely lifted - which I know is down to the antidepressants. These two things mean that I am able to start contributing around the house a little more than I had been doing ..... so I am doing more cooking, simple things like loading and unloading the dishwasher…

  • 5 weeks into recovery from RT

    I will keep this really brief because I have a phone counselling session in sever minutes (and it is thundering outside!!) Since I last wrote I have seen my ENT consultant .... He prescribed Otomize (steroid And antibiotic spray for my ear). Today I am celebrating because I can hear in stereo again ... I cannot describe the pleasure and after my counselling session I am going to be listening to some lovely music! …
  • 3 weeks + 2 days into recovery .... the dichotomy of wanting to look well

    It is just over 3 weeks since my last treatment and this past week has been very up and down. I'll tell why in a moment .... but first I am thinking about my ENT follow-up on Tuesday afternoon. I wonder what the next steps will be and when the follow-up scans will commence?   • Two weeks + 1 day after treatment ended

    Since my last post things are continuing to improve .... I am still on pain relief (paracetamol and ibuprofen) and my mouth is sore, but I re-introduced minty toothpaste earlier this week on the morning brush. I ate a beanburger which wasn't home made and there must have been some unexpected spices in there that irritated ..... it felt as though I had a huge ulcer at the back of my mouth (just behind my epiglottis) .…
