Saw my medical team on September 10th. Now, 100 days after finishing radiotherapy and 10 days after finishing hormone treatment, my psa is still unreadable. No side effects worth reporting, night time urinary visits steady at 2 to 3, I*m really feeling good. Only need is to exercise more to reduce feeling of fatigue towards mid~afternoon. Daughter had baby girl on 24th August and now in Germany to see grand~daughter in…

My post radiotherapy appointment, with Dr Payne’s team, was at UCLH on 28 June 2014.  The young doctor who saw me told me my psa was unrecordable and I told her the R/T experience had been a lot less traumatic than I had feared. Side effects were minimal and I was feeling pretty good. She suggested l stop the hormone tablets immediately. This was a pleasant surprise to me as Dr Payne had suggested otherwise. However…

29/33 Tuesday 06 May 2014: Weight 74.9 kilos. I was feeling very upbeat today as it is the last week of my R/T. Not quite so upbeat last Friday evening, when I passed wind, explosively, or so I thought. Turned out I’d soiled my pants. 24/33 Monday 28 April 2014: Weight 74.5 kilos. A bit sluggish this morning, trying to get out of the house for 11.00, to arrive one hour before the 13.05 appointment. Needed a shower and shave but it all takes time. Slightly constipated. Needn’t have worried as one of the R/T machines had broken down and everything was 30 minutes behind. Because of this, I waited until I was told before starting to drink water. They only…

19/33 Tuesday 22 April: Weight 74.7 kilos. Had my usual weekly chat with Mitch. Told her about my niece’s new baby and my daughter expecting one in August. See, it’s not all about me. Everything ok with me, as far as I am concerned, although the tiredness each day when I get home is getting to me a little. No other major side effects except realising that, when I need to empty my bowels, I mustn’t delay. Also, I have…
