another downward fall on this roller coaster named cancer

We had Mum's birthday party in the hopsice on Friday it was a tearful time watching her with all her friends and family. She was very emotional and tired out but at least she has made her birthday.

Yesterday she had deteriorated big time very confused, asking to go home as she thinks all will be ok with her. she will be able to walk again and sit on her settee. I couldn't tell her that wont be happening. I spoke to the Dr and she said that the steriods had made no difference to her and the physios...

    Wiping out sixty nine years

Just over a year ago, I was able to blog that Gary had responded well to the treament he had recieved in at a German clinic, and was in remission.

We had some very precious months together, leading normal lives, until in September, the tumour started to grow again, and spread to his second lung.

Although he fought on bravely, he became more emaciated and debilitated by the week.

On 17 December 2010, he lost his battle, falling asleep in his favourite chair and never waking up.

    Because he died...

wish they'd read the blood tests properly before sending me on my way

got to ring docs - after sailing through my 3 month check on Tuesday, the letter to my gp arrived on saturday morning. It mentions normal bloods except for elevated alp of 143 and that they are waiting for an LDH test result. No mention on the day, the sw*ne. Was a new doc, so maybe he didn't realise til later but i've been gently stewing all weekend (because there's no-one to ring) and getting my head back in 'sensible cancer' mode. I know it's maybe to do with liver/bones...

    It's all new

My fiance died on wednesday, which is four days ago. It feels completely unreal right now, and I feel like I have to share. Some of you may find what I write uncomfortable or hard, but I hope you all understand.

We were due to get married in April, but Phil went downhill very quickly. He was admitted to a hospice on Monday, and we pulled the wedding forward to Friday. Wednesday he took a big turn for the worse, and the hospice quickly organised a special license to get married Wednesday. Unfortunately...
