Well not been posting for a few days. I have been feeling very good this week no sickness at all, no fatigue, pretty much back to normal. I have spent the week Woking away in the garden, and taking he dogs for long walks, 2hours at a time, much to there distress.
I still have a week and a bit until the next chemo, feeling as good as I do makes me feel like a fake sometimes, especially as I'm not working at docs insistence.
I know Lou was doing her second set of chemo, i...
hi my names Isabel, i am 66,and last july i was diagnosed with oral cancer, there was a large tumour in the floor of my mouth, which i later found out had spread quickly to my tongue, and around my jaw.
I was under a fantastic surgeon at the UCH in Euston, after numerous tests, exams, ultrasounds, mri, and a million and one other tests, throughout i was terrified, it was decided that i would undergo three rounds of a trial chemotherapy, then major surgery, and a large amount of radiotherapy. The date...
I still don't understand what some people expect you know. You see lots of people with problems - hell maybe you read my diary and think to yourself - poor guy, I'm glad I'm not him! - well don't. There are times when I feel sorry for myself, you always try to remain positive about things, but cancer is a horrible and scary thing. The operation and post operative consequences of having 70% of your tongue removed are horrible. You know what? Don't feel sorry for me. I really don...
We went for afternoon tea on Sunday....at a very posh manor house near us. It was something neither me, dad or my hubby had done before and since mum & dad had a voucher for afternoon tea, me and Marc decided to go with them and be posh for the afternoon :)
My husband has just been diagnosed with stage 3 aggressive bladder cancer and embark upon 12 weeks of chemo from next wednesday.....i lost my first husband to lung cancer........all i can see is the same scenario......every one tells me not to worry......not to over react......but i dont know if i can go through all this again only to lose the one i love......
Yet another day gone, yet another day closer to the dreaded treatments. Still not sure how I feel about it, after feeling very stressed and down yesterday I wasn't much better this morning. It didn't help that I had to see the hospital dentist today. Now, whats worse than going to the dentist? Going to the dentist when they are specifically looking to see if you need any kind of work done (no matter how small) and any reason to remove a few teeth. You see, the radiotherapy will reduce my saliva...
Prognosis 6-12 months.
Completed 4 rounds of chemo, said tumour has shrunk and not spread it has always been in her bones and little in liver. Her next review is mid June. I am emailing about her current state of health. Last week she was fine more energy etc, however this week has been very different. Started with pain in her hip which went but now she is full of aches and pains. Now she is saying it is localised more in her lower back around her waist area. Past few days saying she feels more...
Not even half way through 4th chemo cycle when letter drops on the mat for first consult oncology appointment for the chemoradiotherapy at Addenbrookes. This Friday! Short notice for work again. He can go as appointment from his job. Wonder if I can get a half day hol. I've not been keeping count of mine and haven't even been to all appointments. Find out tomorrow I guess.
