I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer in September last year and have just completed 6 rounds of FEC Chemo.
During my follow up appointment with the Surgeon to discuss the next stage, ie a Masectomy, he was worried by the rash that still remained on my breast (was much worse before the Chemo) and called in 2 Oncologists to examine me as well.
It was decided that a Surface Skin Biopsy needed to be performed and the results were, that the cancer has spread to my breast skin.
The problem...

after a short illness- my poor old brother passed on... he was brave to the end, he gave my daughter his last smile, a gift that will be treasured...so hard ...he was only 36...but he made the most of his wife, family and friends right to the end.
My thoughts are now with you people out there with GBM IV- enjoy every second, every single second, do what you can, while you can, laugh, smile, say "sod it" and do what you want to do, have NO REGRETS, live , love and be loved x
The last time I blogged was early in my second cycle of chemo and I was struggling with the sickness. The sickness and nausea have continued to be a problem and over all this time round has been worse than the first. I have missed some doses of the oral capecitibine through being unsure whether I can keep my dinner down. Also, I've needed more rest.
I suppose it has not helped that everyone around me seems to have a cough or a cold and I have been coughing a bit myself. Fortunately no temperature...

I am so scared.
We get the results from the scan on Wednesday, but Dave is feeling worse and worse. He is getting more and more symptoms and I can't help but fear the worse!
My rational mind says that everything is just catching up with him but a nagging little voice says I should be prepared for the worse!
I probably need a slap ;o)
As a mummy there is a mantra: "it is just a phase..." to help you get through the toddler years...
There should be one now: "Everything will be ok...

My doctor asked if I wanted to have an implant in the other 'good' breast so that they'd look the same.I thought well whilst you're there you may as well do a masectomy so to avoid potential probs on that side as well.So now both breasts have been operated on at same time. One is silicon , the 'finished' product and the other the halfway tissue expander. Both sides sore, but the silicon one looks good.Much bigger than original!
Most of the time feel normal and then suddenly...
