    Feel like screaming
I feel like running to the top of a hill and just screaming. Everything seem to be going well, husband got through operation and then seemed to be coping well with chemo, just feeling very very tired and a little sick, but nothing to how it can affect some people and feel that he is very lucky. Now has symptoms back the same as he had before diagnosed and he seems to be going back down, has had scan and gets results on 12th May, but husband is thinking the worst and I am trying to tell him not...

    Meat and One veg
Here I am, One week after surgery and im still swollen and sore. right now at this very moment Im lying in bed with a bag of frozen mixed veg stuffed down my shorts. There's a strange pleasure after the intial shock of cold, but It seems to be doing the trick. My brother asked me in all jest if id managed to 'get aroused' at all yet. And I can safely say that whatever portion of my brain it is that takes care of that kind of thing has signed off from duty for a while. Theres no danger of the rush...

Bride of Seanty's race for life
This year I will be taking part in the Derby Race for Life 5K event on May 2009 in Darley Park, Derby. This is my first proper run and although I've been training for a while I'm nervous to say the least! The money I raise will go towards cancer research (yes, that's scientific research) generally, but many of you will know that I will be running in honour of my husband Sean who has malignant melanoma. You can sponsor me online via the secure connections from this page

    Chemo not working
Well...my chemo is not working. After cycle 5 and an elevation of my Ca125 to 95, it is not working. So yesterday I attempted another Cat scan and could only do the IV part. I couldn't even think to put that stuff to my lips. The test isn't as accurate but we shall see what comes of it. Tomorrow I go for another lung tap...the doc found my liver lower from the weight of the fluid. Can you believe how strong the body is???? I am going to see if they can keep me overnight and tap the other side...

    Chemo Angels
Hi there, I just want to tell you all about a volunteer organisation called Chemo Angels. Basically, you sign up (if you are having treatment) and you get assigned a chemo angel and they send you little cards, notes and sometimes gifts to cheer you up. Every week I would get a card (and sometimes a gift) from my chemo angel. It really, really did cheer me up and it gave me something to look forward to. My chemo angel always gave me words of encouragement and she would tell me all about her travels...

so how are you? and how's your cancer doing?
It's been happening to me a lot that ever since I was diagnosed with cancer, people just seem to know exactly what my physical status is. For example a few days ago, my best friend's ex-bf contacted me on the msn messenger, to ask me how am I doing. My best friend has fibromyalgia and after much consideration he decided that he can't marry her because he's scared of taking care of her for the rest of their lives, so he broke up with her 2 months ago and since then I haven't seen him or heard from...

    Shame on you M&S
Having read recently that our local M&S was now stocking post surgery bras I wandered off today to see what they had. I was delighted to see a selection of quite pretty and certainly comfortable bras, and splashed out on two of them. What a shock I got when I went to pay for them. The assistant, almost shouted "Do you know these are mastectomy bras" as I felt the shop quieten, this was followed by her shouting "so you've had surgery then" she then directed her eyes to my breasts and spent several...
