Shame on you M&S

Less than one minute read time.
Having read recently that our local M&S was now stocking post surgery bras I wandered off today to see what they had. I was delighted to see a selection of quite pretty and certainly comfortable bras, and splashed out on two of them. What a shock I got when I went to pay for them. The assistant, almost shouted "Do you know these are mastectomy bras" as I felt the shop quieten, this was followed by her shouting "so you've had surgery then" she then directed her eyes to my breasts and spent several seconds 'comparing' them obviously deciding which one was the 'one'. I felt so very humiliated, and, certainly if it had happened 12 months ago I would not have been able to cope with it! As I have had time to become more accustomed to the surgery I have had, I was able to complete the transaction before scurrying out of the store. I honestly thought better of M&S and expected their staff to have a better attitude towards us victims of this cruel disease. All I can say is thank goodness I didnt ask her for a fitting!!

  • Hi Helen,

That is disgusting behavior and I hope you have the strength to write a letter of complaint to the management. This stupid girl should have the error of her ways pointed out and be forcefully reminded to observe a more diplomatic way of dealing with her customers. If you don't follow this up some other poor soul will no doubt suffer at this b*tch's hands!

    Power to the patients!

    Best wishes,
