    Had a really bad day

My Dad had an appointment with the oncologist today and still nothing is offered.  He did not seem keen to refer him to a homeapathic doctor and reluctantly offered him a blood transfusion to give him a temporary boost

Still no info and no clear diagnosis even though from the first appointment i felt that he was not going to offer him anything.

How can you do that to another human being, not even offer them any hope, or even the truth so that they can get their head around it and do the things they...

  • Hi Mummy
    Stuff

    Hi Mummy

Things are such mess, and I dont know how to make it all right. Daddy has a go at James whenever Alison is round. He had a go at him the other night for chopping the tomatoes the wrong way, just because he and Alison like them quartered. It was pathetic and Kay and I said to James to keep calm and let it go over the top of his head. I think James would be able to do that if Daddy stopped teating him like a 5 year old and started treating him like he is 21 when she is around. Aparently things...

    I can't believe i have lost him

The past 2 weeks have been so very very hard.  Dad had gone into our local hospice on 24 August and we were called in the following Monday as they suspected that we were losing Dad, but bless his heart he wasn't ready to leave this world until the following Saturday (although both Mum and i had spent 5 days and 3 nights by his side) towards the end of the week we found staying with him just unbearable, we all left on the Friday night and luckily Mum and my brother had just walked back into the hospice...

    I'm wondering where everyone's gone?

I haven't been on here for a few weeks - tried for the last week or so and obviously couldn't get on. Now I find myself with a new user name 'deejay' (which I think used on 'share') and apart from Debs and Kate G - how you feeling on the Temodar Debs? How many more cycles are you having?  I haven't seen any familiar faces and names. When I was at my lowest point on finding out that my son also had a tumour there were certain people who really supported me and I'm wondering if...

    Loss of another kind

Loss is not just losing people.  The dirty pig cancer steals so much from you.  Any problems, no matter how small before cancer become magnified and so difficult to repair, if at all.  Plans may be made but there is a very large chance you will not be a part of those plans.  You may not feel well tomorrw.  I cannot shop for as long as I used to...I have to get in and get out of the stores and go home.  I cannot clean my home to my satisfaction.  It goes on and on.  I have to pay attention to the things I...

Bertie Bassetts Return Journey day 5

Hi All Bert is on day 5 of his chemo and has all the usual side effects, nausea, diarrhoea, hasn't eaten since day 1. Now he has a fight to get his blood count back to something more like normal which I expect will take some time as he was Neutropenic before he even started the Chemo

He has an infection ?? where they don't know yet so  his temp continues to spike despite all the antibiotics and fluids.

He is also very confused, we still do not have the result of his liver scan hoping

    Not sure what to think........

Just an update on me. I went to have my 6th session of r/t yesterday and was told the Dr wanted to see me afterwards. Panic mode set in! Well, as uncomfortable as i could be as i am still suffering with this UTI and not getting to the loo before the Dr spotted me, i sat down with him and he opened up my folder and said he had the results of the last scan.  My heart was racing - what was he gonna say?

Ok, he said he was rather puzzled and that apparently my scan was quite a good one but somehow my...
