    Bad day today

Dont know what was wrong with me today, well, I do, i'm missing Dad !! Taking the kids to school in the car....started crying. Got to work.....started crying, and so it carried on like that for a lot of the day. I keep talking to Dad out loud and kind of hear him answering. Oh my god im going mad now, hearing voices. I do like to think that Dad is talking to me. I feel him near at times, but its funny, mum went on holiday on saturday with her cousin, the holiday she was supposed to be going on with...

    Tough times

Hubby went into our local hospice last week, for symptom control and respite. I was keen for him to be seen in the hope that he would get a more holistic approach to his care. However, I am now torn between spending time with him in there and trying to take advantage of the fact I can now leave the house.

Things seem to have taken a sharp turn for the worst over the last 3 weeks and each day brings its own new challenges. He started taking oxygen today and was also given some antibiotics to tackle...

    So sad

Mum has been on a trial since june. The first scan showed the tumor in her neck hadn't grown and may have reduced slightly. 6 weeks on and the scan has shown that 2 other tumors have appeared and now they have taken her off the clinical trial and she is due to start standard chemo tomorrow. I think this is the last thing that they can try for her. She is due to be scanned again in 6 weeks and if the chemo hasn't done anything then i don't know if i can bear it. She's been talking to me about arrangements...

    No good news

    Hi there
My mum has small cell lung cancer and was diagnosed in dec 08. They treated her with chemo and radio and managed to clear the lung of the tumour. But after stopping chemo in april another tumour appeared in her neck in june. She's now back on chemo ( a clinical trial) and they have given her months as opposed to years. I too am devastated. She's 52 and i'm 33 my youngest sister is 20. Mum doesn't want to know 'how long' I asked the doc when mum was out of the room as they kept referring to...

My dads farewell went well he would have been proud of us all. I took the kids to the chapel but not to the crematorium. I said good bye and told him i would be there for my mum. The kids made me so proud i cant believe how grown up they are. I think this...

Apres Chemo, Radio and now Hormone Therapy

    Hi All !

I am new to this site and quite not sure how to begin !!

Diagnosed with early BC in Autumn 2008. Surgery early December 09 followed by Chemo on 22nd Jan and Radiotherapy- and now hormone therapy (Femera).

Chemo and Radio thankfully had NO adverse effects other than complete hair loss. Hair now growing fast. Why I expect you are thinking is she worrying ?

What I would really like advice on is how and when should I try and get holiday insurance.

    All advice appreciated !!!

    Got here at last

Oh my word I thought they were never going to let me in. I was starting to get a bit paranoid that everytime I tried to put my password and user name in it came up as 'blocked'.  Then common sense prevailed and panic started to subside. Its a new site and everyone has to be loaded on and its the weekend. The person doing the loading is off for the weekend, come monday morning 9.00 I will have my e-mail to say I can get in, stop worrying. 9.00 monday morning VOILA! here I am! Coincidence? don...
