    19th Jan 2010 Bertiebassett

I have not been on for a while as Bert is not great so I  have been spending all my time time with him

I did manage to have lunch with Claire but it was brief as she had to go back to work. The Consultant does not think I have Arthritis which is good only Bursitis which is just as painful but he injected my hip and I should hopefully be pain free tomorrow.  He took loads of blood and an x-ray and I will get the result in 6 weeks.

Bert was very agitated when I was out the Marie Curie nurse...

    Hi Everybody,

I haven't been on line for ages and I have missed keeping up to date with everyone, especially Deb's deliberations which I have greatly missed. The great news is my lovely Tom is doing well on his chemo 5th cycle starting next week,he was able to walk our daughter down the aisle on the 5th of sept 09 (Iwill get some pics to put on my profile of the wedding) but had a relapse a couple of days later (that was probably the relief that he had got shot of her!LOL! not really she's...

    Telgirls dance with cance.....29

I actually though I had got away with it. For the first 8 days after having my first cycle of chemo I was sailing through it and then it happened...........I hit the wall full in the face and went down like the preverbial bag.

This resulted in having to call the doctor out on Tuesday last week and 3 insuccessful attempts by him to take blood using the same needle each time, then deciding to give a broad spectrum anti biotic as temperature was fluctuating and possible underlying infection, then hospital...

    Anxious

    Hi everyone

Hope your all ok.  My husband has finished Radiotherapy just waiting for an appointment with consultant about starting his chemo.  I telephoned his nurse two weeks ago to help as he has been getting very depressed, she didn't bother phoning back.  At least we're seeing his consultant next week.

Thank you everyone for your recipes they have really helped a lot.

    Some scary news

Been offline for a while, had my ups and downs and needed loads of sleep.

I have just been to visit my folks back in SA which was really great, was feeling better than I had in months. Same week I returned I had a appointment at Haematology.  My BCR-ABL seems to be slowly on the rise.  All my specialist said was that we may have to change treatment.

24 hours later I was in a spin, have read far too many research updates and possibilities, i do not actually know what the options are after Glivac,...

Dad is in hospital now. This is all moving so fast that my head is just spinning!

Dad was taken into hospital last night due to him coughing up blood and apparently his white cells were up a little. We don't really know any more. his doctor will be round to see him today so hopefully we will know more then. I really hope it is not an infection cause we had it spelt out to us just how dangerous that could be! I am spending so much time worrying its hard to be positive. x
