Got to stay strong for mum

Less than one minute read time.

Just to day mum as made the decison to go a head and have surgery at the end of the month to see if the tumour on her lung can ve removed successfully. It was a difficult decision for mum to have to make. Being diagnosed with Mesothelimon in October as totally left both family and friends and specially mum in total shock. Im my mums eldest daughter of 45 and i will be my mums main carer and we are very close and im trying so hard to stay strong. I have the surport of my partner and family and friends but some times it helps to speak to other people out side the family who have cancer and who are going threw the same thing. Hi love..................there will always be someone on here who knows what you and your mum are going through. My 24 year old son stayed strong in front of me but luckily he had my friends and his own to talk to, you need that love, get those feelings out, even by blogging on here how you feel will help. I wish your mum well with her surgery and I wish you well also. Take care.........love Carol x

Hi there - you've come to the right place for support. You're right, it really helps to talk to people outside the family, they can look at the issue clearly (as they don't have that emotional tie) and they can say things truthfully that a family member might be afraid to say. I've had help since I joined and I try to help others in a small way as I know how alone you can feel when you are lying awake in the middle of the night. Sending you love and strength, take care of yourself, Val
