cancer has returned

Less than one minute read time.

Found out last Monday  that  my ovarian cancer has returned and am starting 2nd lot of chemo on Wednesday.  Finished my first round of chemo May 2009 and have felt fine getting back to myself enjoying life, then wham during December felt as it my tummy was on the increase, was hoping that it was down to all the extra food of xmas etc., but unfortunately the cancer has returned.  What a blow - going to have the same combination of drugs so will loose my hair again, feel worse about it this time, trying to stay positive.

    Hi Jean

What a blow - as you say, it's worse the second time around.  I'm a few months ahead of you - I finished my first round of chemo in December 2008, and relapsed in July last year.  I finished my latest course of chemo last Friday, so am now anxiously awaiting my scan.  It's horrible to have to go through it all again, but you know what you're up against and that you've managed it to get through it once, so you can certainly do it again.  There are several of us in the same position on the OC group here - hope to see you in discussions there.

    Big hugs, Kate xxx

Hi Jean..............I am so sorry that this has happened. Kate and I were diagnosed around the same time in 2008 and have supported each other ever since. I was gutted when Kate's came back. I have reached 10 months in remission so far, but I know it is a matter of when it will come back, not if it comes back. You fought it once my love so fight it again and we are there beside you.....love Carol x

Hi Jean it is difficult when it returns and it is hard to stay positive but it can be done. I was diagnosed in April 2006 and I am now on my fourth lot of chemo. Each time it comes back it is almost as if you have just been diagnosed but after a few days you will get you head round it and begin to move forward. Take care and keep in touch xx
