    what happens now?

It’s been 13  weeks since mum died, I thought I was alright  but things keep getting worse, I finally went to the doctor and I’m now on antidepressants which I’m not to happy about, I feel really lost I’m been my mum’s daughter  and carer for so long who am I now?   I’m having money problems which means I had to borrow money to buy my prescription. What a mess to get it! , doctor suggested counselling I was willing for any help but I have heard nothing and that was 5

    The New Journey

    Hi again!

Well had two days at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.  Got a bone marrow asp - which was more painful thatn the one I had last June when I was diagnosed.  Also took loads of blood from me and ECG and echo cardiogram.  I see the consultant again on Tuesday when - if he has happy with results I will be starting my new trial drug lenalidamide.

I have lots of mixed thoughts- whether I am right to accept treatment as I had decided before not to.  However I am going for it - the worst...

As you all know how poorly my hubby is , you will be as amazed as me at what he did this morning , forget all the practical reasons why he cant leave the house, or even get up the stairs, or the fact he now sleeps most of the time , and can only just get out of his chair to go to the toilet, well bless him ,he sneaked out at 6 am to buy me some roses from local shop how he did it i dont know, but i do know i have never felt so loved or cherished as i do now,

So even though we are going through...

    what next?

My husband died on 14th November and although I have my good and bad days I am coming slowly to terms with it.  The problems I am now having relate ' to being own my own'.  Last night I had a financial adviser round and although money isn't a problem at the moment as I am still working the problem will be when I retire. Also I am having problems with my electrics.  Steve would have sorted it straight away and my brother, god bless him, did try but it looks like I will have to call out an...

Cancer Tourism: MRSA on a Plate?

I am curious to know whether anyone else has transferred to a different  hospital within the UK whilst undergoing cancer treatment, and whether they have been taken aback by the difference in the treatment environments; whether indeed they think that it might affect our prospects for a successful treatement.

For the record, I have Stage IV incurable breast cancer with bone metastases.  Luckily (ha ha) I currently have no pain or other symptoms.   I'm now receiving Herceptin for "life" which is a piece...

  • Now so sad
    The hurt is unbearable

Well the day came upon me and it was the most awful of days.  Everything I had read to prepare me for the eventual end of my dear father's life did not prepare me for what I saw.

I was twenty minutes late and sadly was not with him when God called for him.  I hate myself for this. I cant begin to understand or even get over the fact that he is now gone and I'll never see him again.  This is what hurts the most.

I loved him so dearly and feel very empty inside.  I know people tell me that he...
