It frightens me how quickly time passes and that as each day goes by, it's another day without my dad in my life. He passed away in May just 3 days before his birthday. My dad had never had the best health physically and mentally - he had a real rough ride of it. But Cancer. That's something else.

Two month's ago the doctors, specialists, onocologist et al had my brother dead and buried within a very short space of time. His liver had virtually stopped functioning, his blood wasn't good, his kidneys were starting to fail and his bones were not looking too good either.
Yesterday he had his 4th chemo session and also got the results of tests they did on Monday. His bones and blood are great, his kidneys are back to functioning properly and his liver has regenerated to the point where...
Arrived at the Hospice at 11.30 and spoke to Dr Choudary,the first doctor Mo had met,about how Mo is, the nurses were doing Mo's personal care when we went to her room.I let them finish what they were doing and kept out of sight so I didn't aggravate the situation and Dr Choudary went and spoke to Mo.She checked Mo's eyes,the eye drops and the antibiotics seemed to be working as they were a lot better than they had been previously.Apparently Mo had 'presented' regarding her bowel movements so the...
As I was helping the nurse with Mo's lunch Paul and Ewa arrived,Paul was off for the day because it was Ewa's birthday but she didn't know that he had taken the day off because it was a surprise.Mo had managed to have quite a bit of her tomato and basil soup today and most of her lasagne at lunchtime but Mo didn't want the dessert,I think she just had enough today.While we were all with Mo, Carol turned up a bit later than she said she would.Carol and I chatted to each other about nothing in particular...
I went to the Hospice again today as you do,didn't get there until 11-11.30 today a lot later than expected had a few boring things to do first.I asked the nurses how Mo had been overnight and this morning before I went in to see her,as I do on every visit just to get an update.They said Mo had a comfortable night and ate some porridge again for breakfast,Surprise!surprise! and was calm and relaxed.The nurses had managed to give Mo a wash and change her nightshirt this morning considering yesterday...
Paul and Ewa visited Mo this morning about 11ish,I only knew they were there because I had just rung the Hospice.The nurses said Mo was comfortable and had eaten some breakfast,probably porridge I expect.Mo didn't want too much personal care this morning and indicated as much to the nurses.Still has yellow tint in her eyes hopefully the antibiotics will sort out the infection Mo has picked up,wherever its hiding.
Mate who works in the Trust (alongside my consultant) texted me today asking if I'd had any news.
It's my day off so unable to look, but know results ready anytime.
I texted back asking if she'd looked, but I'd not expect her to tell me anything if she had. Then she rang me! She said report was very long & she didnt understand it all, but it said consistent with MGUS!

Seems a bitter sweet thing to celebrate. I dont have cancer...
Well it has been a while since I have put a blog post on here mainly due to the interruption that was cervical cancer becoming less of an interruption and allowing my life to start to return back to normal (ish).
People always say that a cancer diagnosis changed them and after my first set of treatment I did not understand it. I never felt anything other than relieved that the treatment was over, exhausted and convinced that the cancer had gone. We all know how that turned out!

Hello the ether world of BC sufferers. I've spend a couple
of weeks reading posts not sure whether to blog or not so here I go.
I went for a family history scan with no suspicions about
anything - sister had pagets earlier in the year and just thought I ought to
get checked out! 2 hours later I was choosing the hospital for a referral. Had a 2/3 cm lump which I didn't realise was
there with infected lymphs. Doctor said that she was pretty sure it was cancer
- diagnosis confirmed it one week...
Couldn't decide what to call this one.. pages and pages of ramblings might have been better...oh well, If you don't have time, here it is in a sentence...
Went to Devon, had a nice time. went to the docs and got new pills.
