Post 523: I am a thicko, I forgot my thread.

Yesterday’s blog (title) heading was about a call from a doctor about my written complaint about a blood review results from the previous week in which I was told I was diabetic and I needed statins for my high cholesterol.

That call was highly inappropriate (in my view) regarding those two conclusions alone but the air of that doctor made me feel uncomfortable and small.

I received a kind reply (phone call) from a second doctor, Dr Erasmus about my letter of complaint and explained how he viewed the results.

"Ring ring, Hi I’m Doctor Erasmus is that Mr Unremarkable I’m ringing to follow up on your letter of complaint…

“Brilliant” I said, “is this really about my letter” (I was a little taken aback).

“Yes indeed” he replied and he quickly and efficiently took apart the last doctor’s findings and advice and one by one told me his review of my situation.

Basically, I’m not diabetic. Also I’m not in need of any statins (due to side effects with my kidneys) which my numbers for ‘bad’ cholesterol was trending downward, admittedly not very fast; but the right way.

But he reminded me that I could help myself on both issues with a better diet, and with that because of my preferences to diet over more pills, sent me a link to the NHS online diet advice, which was perfect. After all I’ve got a shortened life anyway due to my Prostate cancer anyway.

(When I sent that online dietary advice to my Darling later she said she follows that with her Slimming World to a tee, pretty much, so I already have a great diet; thank you Darling).

Overall, I think I can do better, and I will.

With that call going over all my frustrations and clearing them up to my satisfaction one by one I ended the call fully vindicated for making a complaint but also not so stupid as to think I couldn’t do better.

I could definitely cut down on my sweets and sugar intake. Ha ha.

I’m glad I’ve cleared that up and sorry I was sidetracked yesterday.

I don’t sleep much still and sometimes I really try too hard to stay awake when I should really lie down and nap.

But that was all that I have to pick up on from yesterday.

The other thing was the neighbours.

Yes indeed I have fantastic neighbours and there are five neighbours that have offered to cut the grass for me; how about that. I’m so lucky.

But it’s not that neededi lik have to explain more about, because it’s the older gentleman who came over with back pain in his walk and in his face. He looked  as if he needed a sit down. I think it’s my humanitarian side that made me want to help him but I’m here to say that this morning I chatted to him and all is well.

I was outside wanting to get the motor bike going and had the petrol tank off the bike and the seat. The petrol tank needs to be totally emptied and new petrol put in its place which easy enough I thought, but where will I put the old petrol?

I thought about it for a while and came up with a cunning plan. So I got another 5 litre petrol can and decanted all the 7 litres of fuel into it (in two goes) and poured the old fuel into my Mini.

No harm done.

I replaced the fuel tank back on the bike and filled it with the 5 litres of E10. Sorted!

I put the key in the ignition starter, turned it but nothing happened, just the spinning of the engine. I tried and tried but the engine wouldn’t start. I gave up after a while. It was very disappointing and in the end my back which was already hurting said enough was enough and I pushed the bike together and locked it up in the shed for another day.

I have to say that the first time my bike has failed me. But there you go.

I had to work in the afternoon so I sat and rested for a few hours had a big lunch and watched tv until I had to go. My darling had arrived downstairs by then and she looked a whole lot more rested. So at least she was in better shape. It remains to be seen if I get some sleep sometime and perk up.

I went to work and I had a great day, everything was easy peasy and the two hours sped by but I just can’t sleep well.

I have a blood test tomorrow, and I don’t know why, but someone wants my blood. So I’m going to strictly adhere to the premise that it’s best for me to starve the 12hrs before.

Well that’s ok but My Darlings pal was coming over and that meant a take out.

It was decided it was going to be a kebab and at 6pm when our guest arrived we ordered the food for our favourite take out, who are usually very quick with their deliveries and as it was a Tuesday I was hoping for the usual 15-20 minutes turn around, but no!

After an hour of waiting they said they were a driver down and we would have to wait a little more.

It was an hour and a half gone before we got the front door bell to chime. At Bloody last!

I was fuming but little I could do, even the food was top notch nosh. It was fabulous all told. And with the last mouthful getting down me before the witching hour I could go to bed knowing that my target for a twelve hour fast was on the cards still. No eating Haribos till dawn tonight Mr U. Ha ha.

Time will tell if I ever find out what the blood tests for. I really don’t know.

And lastly, tomorrow I must ask the optician if he’s finished with me or whether he reviewed my stats and there is more to do? The second doctor says there’s nothing in my bloods to suggest there’s anything wrong, so it’s back to the optician for more advice.

I’m happy there’s no problem in my right eye but the floaters or clouds in it bother me and give me a watery eye for some reason.

Lastly my tattoo is still looking lovely jubley from a healthy stance. There is no infection nor scabbing so I’m dead lucky or I’m looking after it well.

I can’t wait to have the pin-man in my other arm to balance up my forearms. I know most people are not aligned with my feelings about them but I’ve realised it’s something for me, on me, that I can have done without huge insurance policies and endless calls, I don’t have to arrange suitable transport of access, I don’t have to act ill of disabled, I’m free to make my own mind up and commission artwork that aught to bother nobody but myself. In fact I can’t believe that I’ve got two inks already and there’s no sign of stopping at 4 (a Disney pairing with my Darling is back on the table with the admiring couple (Micky and Minnie) centre stage.

All in good time.

Now I must have a snooze.

Good night good people.

Sleep well and take care xx
