  • Losing my best friend, my mum
    Not copying well

    Well, where do I begin

It started two years ago when I was back in sixth form studying for my a-levels. Mum had a bad cough for a very long time, she decided she should go to the doctors just for a check up, didn't think much of it. Then she had some scans, results come back and they found a mass on bottom of her left lung- caner. The most horrific word. At the time it was the worst possible news but looking back now and comparing to the situation now it seems like nothing. Mum had bottom of her...

    Cancer V's Marriage

    Hi All,

Today I need some sort of a release and writing on here is proving to be something that really helps me get through the days...

To give you a bit of background I am 28, my husband is 26. We have been together for just over 3 years and 2 of these years we have spent living with 'my cancer'.

My husband and I got married in September 2015 - About 6 weeks before the wedding I was given my second cancer diagnosis, this was the metastatic spread into the chest lymphnodes. I hadn't yet...

  • Cancer, Me and Them
    All clear...?

    Well.  D-Day is almost here.

Tomorrow I get the results from my scan from two weeks ago.

I have been getting increasingly stressed.

Over the past three weeks my bowels have been really uncomfortable, sore and generally misbehaving.  My stomach hasn't been great either.  Feeling nauseous and getting niggling pains here and there.

My irrational mind tells me the Bastard has spread.  It is in my stomach and bowel and I will be told there is little they can do.

My rational mind tells me that it has only...

  • Basal Cell Concern?

Hi I am looking for some help and advice. I was diagnosed with a 'type'of inflamatory arthritis over 2 months ago and been in morphine since for pain, and now on a chemo drug to they and get the pain under control. I also have had a red spot on my hip for about 2 years which I decided to have removed. It has been confirmed as Basal Cell and my Doctor has referred me to a specialist as he says a lot more has to be removed. My concern is that because I have had this spot so long.. Is the 'inflamatory...

  • Who caused the cancer?
    who caused the cancer?

My ex husband has just died of a brain tumour. The divorce was only finalised 3-4 months ago. The cancer was almost certainly there in the run up to the divorce and his behaviour certainly added to the events leading to the divorce.

I was a away when he collapsed and was rushed into hospital with the brain tumour. His family didn't let me visit or communicate with him in any way and I have been told that I don't/didn't need any information about his illness as I am not family-but an exwife. ...

  • It's just hit me.
    Self pity

I knew what was happening, but I also knew the news just wasn't going in.

Since being off work since 5th Jan and diagnosed on 20th Jan I thought I'd pay a visit to the girls I work with, I love their company and was missing them, I think that might have the triggered off the emotions I feel now.

I woke up a 5am, and all I can think about is I don't want to go, I want to stay and get old!  My eyes are sore and I'm, frankly, getting bored of crying ...  I've got to compose myself before...

  • Keeping Track After Devastating Loss
    The Pain of Loss

My mother died 4 years ago from thyroid cancer, followed by grandmother who died last year from pancreas cancer. The devastation I feel is not only from my own feeling of loss and emptiness, but I feel even worse for my father and my siblings. I feel like I can't talk to anyone about my feelings because I don't want to worry them. Unfortunately I have had instances where I feel so heavily depressed that I have cried in front of them, and that makes me feel so guilty. So guilty that I have to burden...
