Post 560: Are we going out or staying in.

The big question today was whether we would get to go out and about to couple of garden centres or just a cafe, after the cleaner was finished and up gone at midday.

While the ground level rooms were being dusted and floors washed both my Darling and I were on level 1 doing our thing…

She was asleep in bed and I was either standing awkwardly in-front of the pill shelf (filling 6 days of masses of pills into the Dossete boxes) or tidying away the clean & dried washing. Mostly socks and pants, enough said.

By the time I was done with my chores it was time to say cheery-bye-cleaner and we had the house back. At least I did something towards the work around the home and earn a lunch for a change, which my Darling prepared and I ate. What a combination, we’re slowly getting  there! But it’ll be a few more days before my Darling has got her ‘fuel tanks’ even half full because when she sat beside me she was flagging. I guess because she’s been nearly a week on her back in bed she’s lost all the power in her back-up batteries too, but knowing her she’ll bounce back quickly. I hope so. She thinks she’s wrecked the holiday, which so not true because I’ve trashed the two weeks already.

The first thing after lunch is a trip out to a Garden Center or two for a look around the Christmas decorations adorning their shelves and standing proudly for the early birds to buy.

It’s only Bonfire night tonight, a bit early for the Christmas shopping binge but who knows.

Remember remember the 5th of November,

Gunpowder, treason and plot…

So I’m still in my grey furry dressing-gown and have decided that it’s time to send some money to Australia where the newest relative arrived in the state of Victoria to our dear niece, all before I get changed and we go out.

I’ve been given all the numbers for her account and all I have to do is write them into the banking app and hey presto the moneys sent. It’s well after midnight over there so when they wake in the morning they’ll have a nice birth gift for Maeve.

My Darling says nothing because it’s a great thing to do (send the money) and I just need to pop them numbers in, how hard can that be?

Fourty-five minutes later, I’ve done it! Horrah!

Horrah!

It’s never as easy as you think and it’s always the bloomin’ “new recipient phone check”, the very last thing to do, damn it!

It’s because of my thoughtlessness that it took three long insufferable times to fill out the digital pages that caused the input and checking problems. First the app closes and looses all the new data when you pick up a call (on my phone app) so that was number one.

Number two was that sending the phone call check to the very unused land-line also was dead in the water because the “call Guardian” intercepts the check call and kills the code input.

So I switched off the “call guardian” off the land-line phone and tried again. Each time I had to input all of my Nieces  and her bank data in the app which I was obviously getting better at each time. So the code was issued, my land-line rang (for the first time in weeks, only the NHS uses it) and after I picked up the call and the lady robot asked me to say or push the buttons to input the code we were finally there.

Bingo!

Hey presto!

And other magical words of glee.

The thing was that after I had thrown my arms in the air as if I had cracked the meaning of life (and it’s not on page 42, ha ha) I found that the only living thing in the room by then was Mr Vicious, who spun his head around in shock but soon settled back to sleeping on the back of the sofa.

I caught up with my Darling in the kitchen down the hallway. She looked gloomy but said “well done”.

I replied “what’s up” just as a text arrived on my phone from Australia thanking us for the money and promising to buy some pink things, which they’re short of, and that’s the only trouble with not knowing the sex of the baby during pregnancy and not being able to stock up on sex’d coloured and styled clothing.

So what was the problem here in the kitchen?

She said “it’s freezing out there and I’ll go without you just to pick up your drugs at Boots”, “you’re not well”.

I replied “it’s you that should stay out of the cold, you’re not ready to go out, you’re still weak”.

With that splendid to and fro of reasoned thinking we both stayed in all afternoon and binged watched that 52 part KDrama we are only at the beginning of, and stayed warm and cosy.

So there you go, our holiday is going to start tomorrow evening at big Sis’ and Brother-in-law’s home for a dinner and chat… If we’re lucky?

Take care and stay warm.

I might have to put the central heating on at this rate. Ouch!

Night night.

PS

The heart is beating between 60-90 beats per minute all day, which is a big improvement.

The Blood Pressure is 125/75 64bpm which is also pretty good. So the new pills are working well.

My weight is the only thing zooming up and out of control, bloomin’ steroids!

But when you see what I eat, those puff pastry mince pies (straight out of the air frier after 6 mins) and Haribo’s are always by my side (or in my tummy) so I’m a fool to myself.

But the mince pies looked as good as they tasted I must say.

My back was good for an hour this morning but I might have over done it (nothing much you understand) but I’m so tired of every time I bend my head or try to bend over to pick up something just out of reach I’m in agony. Oh yes. I’ve also pick up twitching. Not the gawping at birds but the huge twitches that send my body into a big wriggle that’s instantaneously over but really hurt my back and ribs. It’s like I get an electric shock. It happens in bed and sitting but never standing or walking.

Weird!

(der der-datda datda da da da da da deeeeer; da da der daaa daaa daaaaaa)

That’s all folks!
