    Care at home?

Hi new to this so sorry if im inthe wrong place.

My mum has just been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which has metastised to the brain.  The oncologist, who suggested that mum may only have weeks left here (although i have no idea how long weeks is) is not going to give any treatment apart from steroids to reduce the swelling.  She also had a major stroke 5 years ago which has left her relatively blind - only sees shadows and faces up close and a little confused - but can understand everything...

My diagnosis journey so far...no end in sight :-/

Well, I've never blogged in my life but I have suddenly got the urge at 1.45 in the morning! I don't know if I even have cancer, but I am in that frightening wirlwind of tests and results that is the diagnosis journey. I have copied and pasted my biography from my profile below and will endeavour to update periodically :-)

Don't mean to sound depressing as at least there is hopefully...

    Doctor Oz.......Asparagus and cancer cells.

    Hi,

I have been sent a rather interesting, but slightly doubtful report from a friend today, with regards to Asparagus and it properties. It claims that there are certain substances in it that can reduce cancer cell counts?

Asparagus contains a good supply of protein called histones, which are believed to be active in controlling cell growth. It has been reported by the US National Cancer Institute, that asparagus is the highest tested food containing glutathione, which is considered one of the...

Back to work next week, chemo the week after

Lots going on. Most years (indeed all that I remember!) I have had a birthday on the 13th Jan. This year it is being postponed to Saturday.

Tomorrow I have the pleasure of going to the hospital for 7.30 in the morning. Not for me this time: P is having grommets fitted and adenoids removed. She has to stay off school for a week which is lovely timing as I am back at work next week for the first time since the op. Once again, we are indebted to her grandparents (my mum and dad) for keeping the household...

    A BROKEN HEART

My beautiful brave pop lost his fight against cancer tonight and died at 8.30. Sadly he got very distressed and had to go into hospital which i didnt want but had no choice.

I spent all day with him and it was soooo horrible to see him as distressed as he was and me so helpless to do anything. At half seven i felt the need again to tell pop that i loved him more than the world and that hes been the best pop anyone could ask for, he wiped away my tears and said thankyou for everything and i love...
