The week is now over, and after 300 miles and £7.50 in parking charges, (not to mention the loss of income for my husband), I'm glad to say I can feel, and others can see the difference in the size of my tummy. I was obviously building up fluid again, and after 3 days it had gone down sufficiently for me to get into my ordinary sized jeans, instead of baggy trackies. It makes you feel better if you can put on something decent. This chemo hasn't affected me too much yet, bit tired, but able...
Hi this is my first blog my lovely Mum has been diagnosed with terminal bone cancer 2 weeks ago, i love you so much mum, you are so brave, mum had a good day today and hopefully will get some sleep to night. going to see the specialist on monday love you mum xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Its been quite a few months (maybe as long as a year) since my mum first visited her GP with swallowing problems, rapid weight loss, hoarse voice and loss of appetite. She was referred for an endoscopy, but the specialist didnt think the procedure was necessary and instead sent her for an ultrasound scan looking for gallstones. Some weeks later a blood test revealed mum had the helicobacter bug which was treated with antibiotics and blamed for her gastric/throat problems. Time went on and her symptoms...
That's what i kept telling myself when I was on the treadmill at the gym on Friday. Its been a rather long time since i went running. I went for one session before xmas but then i came down with the flu and then pneumonia so that was the end of my training. The aim of this pain? To run Race For Life and proudly display Rich's name on my back!
This Monday I have my first check up with the breast clinic now feeling quite nervious about it .
In april 2010 I went there feeling well but I had a little lump and being 42 I wasn't to worried about it but then the arse fell out of the world I knew , when he told me I had cancer .I have learnt alot since then like who my real friends are and I'm greatful for that i will cherish them all for ever.
The rollercoaster ride started, tests, scans lumpectomy thinking I would just need radiation...
Quick update: My frequent trips to the loo culminated in massive pain/discomfort in the bladder region and in the lower back and needing the loo constantly. I ended up seeing an out of hours doctor who tested my urine and said it was an infection due to evidence of blood and proteins. No idea whether this was aggravated by my current health issues or totally incidental.
I'm seeing my GP on Tuesday and will emphasise, given all the symptoms, that I believe an urgent referral is crucial. Wish me...
I'd like to talk to people in Scotland regarding cancer diagnoses whether it be themselve or if they are a carer as I now find myself.
My husband has always been quite healthy appart his Chrohns of which he has had since childhood, needless to say he never complains, when he was diagnosed end September last year even then I couldn,t believe how he has dealt with this. I find people in this situation totally amazing their courage and the way they just try to keep such a positive attiitude is fantastic...

Mum is now in hospital - she's been in since Tuesday evening....she had deteriorated very quickly and is now struggling to breathe - they are trying to make her as comfortable as possible - but its just so hard watching her.
I know in my last post i said about the suffering and i wish it would end - well now i mean it even more - i wish and hope she feels ready to go. I always say i'm ready for it to happen but everytime something else happens and get a phone call saying mum has got worse i...
