So here goes.... After a year of reading other blogs ive finally found the courage to write my own in the hope of finding someone in a similar situation.
My mum is 56 now and 2 years ago was diagnosed with limited stage small cell lung cancer. She had chemotherapy and radiotherapy followed by adjuvant radiotherapy to her brain.

In June
i had a chest infection so given antibiotic and sent for xray due to my age and the fact i used to smoke but gave up lasst year
In August
got made redundant
had a repete chest xray to make sure infection gone
we have acepted an offer on the house,
In September
got phone call about xray results, dr has done an urgent refferal to a chest specialist to have my right lung checked there is a colapse of the middle lobe.
Started a new Job. My daughter got married the next day my youngest went off...
Today I had an ENT appointment - they're still looking for a primary tumour, and had a glance at my throat with a trans-nasal endoscope (tickly and eye-watering, but painless - nothing like that "Euarrrgh!" moment when Arnold Schwarzenegger puts the probe in his nose in Total Recall). They also did a biopsy of a salivary gland (a "sharp scratch", as they always put it, but more unnerving than painful).

Last week whilst mum was seeing her oncologist Dad bumped into his doc.He asked about his whole body scan which turned out to be good,no spread to the lungs but possibly its in the bone to be disscused next week.Also the psa has dropped with the hormone injections yippee.so Dad decided to ask the "how long have i got " question.He was told maybe a year or several if it can be controlled.So this made him happy that he has a while longer as he has a new grandchild and a great grand child.So here we...
Hi all, as the title says, I'm a bit late with this update but that means no bad news at the moment. I had another scan a few weeks ago followed by an oncology appointment about 10 days ago. Saw a different registrar, a young lady who was very gung ho about things. The scan showed that I have had marginal extra shrinkage since the previous scan. Well it's been one of those days - the first wedding anniversary without my lovely man. Cold, grey and wet. Yesterday reminded me more of my wedding day - hot and sunny and blue sky.

Well I now have the date for my 1st lot of ABVD so things are more settled in my head.
Its 3 weeks off but I can now try and work out my shifts around the regime as long as people at work dont mind swapping shifts.
Well is it just our clinic/centre or all of them.... We get there early as you’re asked to do only to find they are running 1hr and 10mins late.
This is only the 2nd time we have been there and its the 2nd time we have found it running late I’m wondering now if this is the norm. In the end we were seen 1hr and 45mins after the time of our appointment.
Once inside it all seemed really rushed although we were given the information we needed it felt like we had to rush things too....
