Hi all, as the title says, I'm a bit late with this update but that means no bad news at the moment. I had another scan a few weeks ago followed by an oncology appointment about 10 days ago. Saw a different registrar, a young lady who was very gung ho about things. The scan showed that I have had marginal extra shrinkage since the previous scan. Although only marginal it is apparently not unusual to have re-growth after 4 chemo's so marginal shrinkage is good!!. The oncologist said that "now is the time to go out and enjoy yourself" Val took that to mean that things are really great but I am not so sure, the scan report mentions nodules in several places around my neck and chest areas, I know that the tumour on my lymph node is definately still there. I think they say nodules if it isn't confirmed as tumours so my impression is that they do not expect anything nasty in the near future but that's not to say everything is hunky dorey. I do feel much better now that the chemo effects are wearing off especially the tiredness and breathlessness which are both now much better. Life has seemed to stand still this year and rather selfishly we forgot Gill's and Cathryn's birthdays for which we apologise, also Hayley and Steven's wedding which we missed but will rectify that in the coming weeks. It seems that all our time revolves around this f........... illness which it doesn't really, just seems that way. Thanks to Motability, we now have a much more practical car for my scooter and Val's walker ( citroen berlingo multispace), they agreed to end Val's contract early on the Nissan so that she could get the Citroen. We are going to Vegas in October ( thanks to Visa) for 10 days, maybe our last visit, who knows?.I cannot get insurance for the Cancer so keeping fingers crossed that nothing happens there although apparently the hospitals have a duty of care to get you fit enough to fly home if anything happens. We have cover for anything else so shouldn't be too much of a problem. My next oncology appointment is November 8th with hopefully another scan before then so will keep you all updated after that.
