My thoughts and feelings

It’s been over a month since I was on here last and a lot has happened.

My December Chemo wasn’t that great, I felt ill after both lots with the one on Christmas Eve being the worst. My taste buds went haywire and everything tasted like nothing you would really want to eat! Christmas dinner was awkward as I’m sure you can guess, all that time preparing and cooking it and it didn’t taste great but my wife understood…

After yesterdays appointment I am still upset and annoyed.

Two months ago we were told I had stage 1 Hodgkins Lymphoma, but we now find it's stage 2. This means what was going to be two to three rounds of Chemo has changed to three to four. I know compared to others its not much but its an extra month or two.

They have known this for ages just not passed the information onto us, what a bloody joke......

Not long had my ABVD and feeling ok other than the shock of being told my Chemo is booked until March 2013! My consultant had said I should only need two or three rounds! I had my third ABVD on Monday (12/11/12) they had trouble getting a vein again but that's not unusual the nurse said. I'm still getting really bad heartburn or acid reflux. I'm taking Ranetedine and Gaviscon but its still there grrr! My taste buds are all over the place too, it's that or the sores in my mouth making stuff taste strange. Yesterday was my second lot of ABVD Since my 1st one I have not been back to work. I have been very tired and short of breath. No way I could do a 12hr shift plus the traveling time on top of that. Also started developing mouth sores last week, I have a different mouth wash now so fingers crossed that helps.
