    It's back!

Yesterday I was told that my breast cancer had spread to my liver. Surgery is not an option, so chemo is all that they can do! Unless some of you know otherwise?! Research is a bit conflicting about the prognosis, my GP wouldn't be drawn on it. So I don't know if I am dying or whether we can contain it!

  • The final battle
    The end is nigh...

Pablo took a turn for the worse overnight. After getting increasingly congested over the last couple of days, his breathing worsened as his lungs filled with fluid. Three weeks after admission to hospital following a fall at home at 5am, leading to a cracked rib & 4 stitches in a head wound, we enter the final phase.

I feel that the greatest gift I can give Pablo is a peaceful ending. To that end, with the great help & support of our wonderful oncologist, he is now deeply sedated, to ease his...

I had radiotherapy on my pelvic area following womb cancer 4 years ago.   This year i started to suffer pains in my right hip and had difficulty walking.  I thought this was just arthritis but it seems I was wrong.

Eventually I plucked up the courage to speak to my oncologist and they suggested an MRI scan....scary stuff!  The result was that this hip problem could have been caused by the radiotherapy treatment.  My bone density is normal.

Has anybody else suffered this problem?

    Angry all the time

I am getting so angry at everyone at work and all the moaning that they do. I want to scream at them and tell them to get a life. I know I am feeling like this because all I do is worry about my daughter. I am going to try Yoga and meditation to see if I can calm down a bit.

  • Let me be scared
Phase 4 of my treatment - the and into the 2nd year.

Well I sdtarted my first of 12 planned cycles of folfox yesterday and all went well apart from the fact that I have lost my mobile - probably at the chemo suite they are looking for it.My husband came to collect me as we live a long way from the hospital and he had to queue 30 mins for the car park and still couldn't get in so he phoned me.The parking for the hospital is really bad and makes the visit really drag out but the staff on the chemo suite are lovely so it balances out I suppose.

BORED WITH THE SLOW FINAL HEALING

Hi everyone... sorry not posted for a while...

Having been to the hospital to be told that i have gone from 85% healed to only 65% healed i was a bit depressed. I am now back on a dressing regime that worked 2 months ago before getting back to work.

I shower in the morning and then prontosan soak the wound for 10-15 minutes. then moisturise the whole leg with 50/50. then apply a small patch of acticoat to the wound. then a small wad of gauze then a surgipad and then the support stocking.

    what fun

Well we have been back from euro disney a week and we are just about recovered.

We meet lil man on sunday and he ran up to me with a massive grin on his face. That was the most amazing thing ever. He had a fansatic time loved every  minute of it. He got lots of pictures with the charaters and signuaters.

The hotel they stayed in was wicked. If it was raining the chararters would come in and dance on the stairs and take photos with the children. The only thing we didn't get to see was the parade...

    Wow I'm so tired lol.

Hi Guys Firstly i want to thank everyone for your wonderful messages of support and pm's.

Today went quite well, I has a 4 hour lecture this morning with various speakers from the trust, it was very informative but made my head hurt.

The Chaplain came in too but i was ok. I was worried about that part but i was fine.

This afternoon i got to visit my ward. I am on renal ward, we have a lot of dialysis patients but everyone including the staff seemed lovely. One lady prob in her 80's asked me...
