    what a week

A week or so after the stent was fitted things started to settle down for my husband. he found himself able to drink the super-calorific milkshakes with relative ease and managed a bowl of soup at the same time and speed as me. it felt like happier days were on their way.

Three days later it all went belly up. The acid from the stomach now has a clear passage way to erupt into and the fast tabs hubs was on were creating mucous and making him sick. The pain he has been in has been unbearable to see...

a new phrase has entered my life!!!!!

well ive been in hospital 3 times in 2 weeks! they tried doing a colonoscopy but had to stop just short of blockage because it was too painful. my duodenal cancer has grown slightly but they have decided they wont do a bypass on this as it isnt causing me a problem so far. as they couldnt do a biopsy on my blockage theyre going to make decision on ct scans, blood markers etc. so at this point im am to have an op, it could go either of two ways,1) a bypass 2) a stoma. what do you think asked my...

    Back to square one

Had a scan on Friday. Got results yesterday.

Went in to clinic expecting good news as I have felt so well. Came out thoroughly depressed.

Chemo (Cisplatin Etoposide) has stopped working on some of the tumours and others are appearing. Some are still shrinking. It looks like they are going to decide to stop my current chemo and they are considering an alternative chemo called Topotecan. Or, they might give me radiotherapy on some of the tumours. The one in my brain seems to worry them the most as its...

    Hospital again

Well my pops ended up back in hospital yesterday because his stents blocked AGAIN. Hes fed up as its only been 9 days since it was last unblocked but the tumour is growing that fast it keeps covering it. He hates going in but its the best place for him even though he hates the food and being away from home.

On the plus side his brother in law has arrived even though he had problems due to the snow so i know he will be eager to get home to see him so lets hope they unblock it today and we get to...

  • my story so far, scary but happy.
    think ink!
First off, thank you guys SO much for the support! I wasn't sure if I should even be here since they haven't figured it out. Since my last post a lot has happened. to sum it all up I had a radiologist tell me that it wasn't lymphoma or leukemia and then my doc said it was still a possibility but maybe not as big. Then I was told that I have a tiny cystlike thing in my thyroid that they're going to biopsy soon as well as my. Swollen node. Then I had a consult with my surgeon for the lymph node and...

    non health problems

exactly 1 year after starting along the weary cancer path, i first bumped my head with DWP who invited me to a back to work medical, i attended and i was told i was awarded incapacity until jan 2012, as some of you probably have i have also had bumped heads with several other government depts, i put up the good fight and follow the rules, but i always seem to lose, there seems to be a very real lack of understanding out there, ( even with some doctors, not everything is in a book) , this lack of understanding...
