Well things have taken a big step this week . Mum has taken a turn for the worst and has had to have even more tablets now (32 a day !) She is feeling tired and has become unable to walk or even stand unaided. She has been taken to the hospice where she sleeps most of the time . strangely though she seems peaceful and relaxed .They are really lovely there.Meanwhile I cannot sleep and am worrying myself silly . Mum has said she thinks she is getting near to the end and today when I left she started...

Went out with my husband and dogs today had a nice gently walk round, im going to a show tomarrow with a friend showing my dog for me so a nice day out and a chance to see friends.

I think I'd like to keep a record on a weekly basis where possible; I like to know where I've been and think about where I'm going.
We learned about Nana's terminal cancer last Friday. It was both a shock and not one, as we knew she was ill and had thought it was one thing until a few days before. When that idea was proved to be wrong I was pretty certain about what was actually going on. We've been told 6-12 months but, as that was the first scan, that's nowhere near set in stone...
And I do. I miss my big, strong man. I miss the intimacy.
The illeostomy, the second stoma, the real change in his body image, means he doesn't touch me now other than in that long distance, holding hands thing. No more big hugs, no more lying together, draped around each other, Just no more the skin contact: the ease, the comfort with each others' bodies, is just gone. Nobody talks about this at all. Or maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm the only one in the world who has lost the love of...
Pat spent 2 nights in hospital last weekend due to severe chest pain. It was in fact a bad Angina attack and no further damage has been done to his heart since his heart attack 2 years ago. We have now gained another Consultant who has put him on a slow release nitrate to go with the puffer. He is also doing a 24 home heart monitor test and reviewing him in 6 weeks. Octreotide (chemo for the Carcinoid) can affect the heart. He is quite good today and has lost quite a bit of weight due to reduction...
Well thats the op done and dusted.
Arrived at 8 for and 8.30 appointment as we were worried about traffic, managed to park on the farm track so free parking for the day. Booked in then down to x-ray to have the nucular stuff injected and wandered around for an hour and a half waiting for it to work round my system. Back to have it x-rayed and nodes marked, everyone wishes you luck which I find very un-nearving then back to sugical admissions.
Saw the doctor then went down to theatre at 12.35, woke...
Hiya you lot just wanted to update you on the job front.
GP appointment went really well and he was very supportive giving me ideas and making me see I was just lacking a bit of confidence. I seem to think I have no skills after such a long time out of work but i'm willing to give anything a go honest guv!!!!
He suggested I go home and pick up the phone to DWP to start the ball rolling. SOOOOO that's exactly what I did. A very helpful lady explained the protocal. I get an appointment at...
This is the first time I have ever spoken about my situation and I'm not sure where to start...My name is Lucy Everitt, but my parents always called me Lou. I'm 19 years old and I feel as though I'm 200.When my mum was little she had a tumour in her cheek which was later removed, When I was young I remember my class mates teasing me and asking what was wrong with her, snarling and asking "Has she just come back from the dentist", because of her slightly larger cheek. but to me nothing was wrong,...
went out with Dad for coffee, he looks really well and healthy, i cant quite believe that his results are bad! he has an appointment to start chemo at the end of April and I haven't a clue what to expect. I know I will take charge and be strong for the rest of our family, specially mum, but I need someone to talk to!!
