Congrats Rowan, not many could puke quicker after taking the new med, you are in range of the podium and medals. I didn't expect it, I thought it would be longer. before anything happened. GP called back, I can try it tomorrow taking my anti sick meds to see if that offsets the intense bit. I was the tail end of meds when it hit. today So that can be done much better.
GP said if it happens again tomorrow, there is another anti-sick that could be taken for a few days, it is an option. I don't know. I will think on it. I don't think so. It comes with it's side effects, may not work, I don't think I could hack it for something I don't know will work long term.
Side effects typically resolve within a week or so. GP says that if it is this extreme or intolerable to me just stop on Fri or now if I want. This is not 'normal' range .
I had thought of adjusting the meds and am hopeful there could be an offset. Once I thought I could hold it down I took it, then slept, when i woke up I felt a level of nausea that I can deal with as I am used it, but won't accept that for long as these are my good days. I am not cutting into those. Also I couldn't cope with any extra nausea when it's the rough days. Actually being sick is a definite no.
If the timing of side effects is the same I can get away with the pre-med it's quite tight frame though.
I am shaken by the unexpected timing and upset obviously. It was awful and then I started to worry about the more serious side effects and got scared so we had the go bag good to go.
If this doesn't I am thinking go back on to the usual but delay now until the better days of next Chemo, that would be into Nov but am ok with the delay, I am not depressed yet. And now I am in pile up mode I think that break is more beneficial. The irony of anti-depressants being the straw on the camels back is too much.
I am comfy enough sitting up or lying down. Can distract myself.Am going to lie down with an audiobook.
I am incredibly fortunate to have such a surgery that could respond to this so quickly. No waiting to get through initially. Then they said a phone back first thing tomorrow. Then called back this afternoon.
