Blue lights - again!

Less than one minute read time.

Pat spent 2 nights in hospital last weekend due to severe chest pain. It was in fact a bad Angina attack and no further damage has been done to his heart since his heart attack 2 years ago. We have now gained another Consultant who has put him on a slow release nitrate to go with the puffer. He is also doing a 24 home heart monitor test and reviewing him in 6 weeks. Octreotide (chemo for the Carcinoid) can affect the heart. He is quite good today and has lost quite a bit of weight due to reduction in the fluid as his heart is now working better.

Happy Easter to everyone and may it be as good as possible in all the circumstances of folk on this site.

Hi Janique (Carol) and thanks for your good wishes.

I hope things are not too bad for you and that your Dad is beginning to cope with his loss.

    Do take care of yourself,

    Panda.

    Hi Nicnjc,

Once again thanks for caring. We have the next injection tomorrow and each month seems to get a little easier.

Hope you enjoyed the holiday and do take care,

Well, we have been awash with appointments arriving this week. One was an admission date to have a heart pacemaker fitted on June 21 st.. This was off the back of the 24 hour monitor and was the first we heard of it. We then opened another very nice letter from the Cardiologist saying that he had taken the liberty of arranging it. We also have an OPD appt with him a week before and another contrast scan of lung, abdomen and pelvis in three weeks time. We will get those results from the big man in Oncology in June. It is hard to keep up with it all. Thank goodness I can drive as we are attending two hospitals at the moment.

Pat was a bit knocked sideways by the pacemaker news but knows they are extremely successful and done under local anesthetic. He is due his next injection next Tuesday and the beneficial effects of this last one are beginning to wear off.

    Will keep you posted.
