  • Does it ever get easier?
    Wow!

Overnight I seemed to have made significant progress! Last night I went out for some drinks with a very close friend and we just reminisced and laughed the night away. I genuinely can't remember the last time I enjoyed myself like that and didn't come home wanting to go to go to sleep and never wake up again! To continue the good spirits, I've had a big fat smile on my face allllll day, whilst catching up with some friends.

Its silly to think I never thought I'd feel happy or be able...

28/08/2013 - Time to Grow Up?

Just like I knew I would, I regret posting that blog post yesterday. Reading it back I sound like such a petulant little child - I apologise to anyone who had the misfortune of stumbling across that and having to read it. I promise I am not normally like that! I swear!

It all came from the fact that alot of bad things have happened to me and my family in the past two months and it's making everything else, all the silly little things seem like big huge problems when they aren't. Some days I feel like...

  • Getting on to the roller coaster
    4.45 in the morning
First post! Never done this before, it's quite exciting, shame it wasn't about something nice. I must commit to this. The reason I am awake is yesterday my specialist nurse and consultant informed my beautiful wife and I that my melanoma has not only spread to my lymph glands in my left leg but also likely in my lung and chest. When they say "likely", read that it has, but I do need a further scan to get more information as to its metabolism so lets clutch that straw. I go to work in...

  • Getting my head around it
    What to tell the neighbours.

What do I tell people I meet? This was a question I tried to answer when I first knew I had cancer plus mets in my bones. I had a huge temptation at first, to tell everyone and get sympathy. "Oh you poor thing, you're so brave". I could have expected that reaction, or could I? I decided not to test it out.

So my wife and I told our four children and said we were keeping it in the family for the moment. They were free to tell their spouses and children if they wished. They are sensible...

Seriously, if you're offended by bad language I suggest you don't read on.

    :'(

Why can't someone just give us a fucking break for once? Why?

I'm not getting my bike now because apparently, somehow, we've got a bad credit rating. I literally have no idea how or why this has happened but basically, as far as lending money goes - we're not getting any. We're paying £500 a month rent yet no fucker...

    27/08/2013 - Another new week...

I hate going back to work after the weekend, I miss my boyfriend so much. He's my best friend and he makes me feel so happy. I find it very hard to get through the day without him.

That's all I have to say today for now - he's all I can think about :)

Why am I not excited for my holiday?
Finished work today till next Wednesday and I'm off to Rome on Thursday and STILL no excitement. The tension in my house is so high, everyone's so snappy, I should be buzzing to get away but I couldn't care less. I'm usually so organised but I haven't sorted out anything for my holiday yet.. I just can't be bothered.

  • A Brand New Me
I Want To Go Back There Again.

Today’s title is a song recorded in 1967 by one of my favourite artists.  Chris Clark.  Not many people have heard her music which is a great shame.  She never got the recognition she deserved.  She’s from the same era as another favourite of mine -  Dusty Springfield, and Chris Clark has a fine voice too.  However I do know someone who loves 60s music as much as I do.  Let’s call him D and I have his permission to share his views on how dating has got more difficult since the good old days...
