    one down 14 to go
Well, thankfully that was easy. First rads done today for BC. Just a few moments under invisiable rays and off you go, see you tomorrow they cheerfully cry. Compared to chemo its a doddle. See what i say after three weeks lol. But, i am like red rum running down for the last furlong, and aiming for that finishing post to gain my prize, which is another go at life, hopefully i will get it right this time lol. With minus 10 out there its time to pamper myself and keep heating on tonight, keep...

    Hi to all...
Hi to all who read this..I'm new to this and just felt the urge to say how much reading everyone elses blogs helps get through. My mum has the lung cancer and I'm just trying to get my head round everything from finances, living arrangements and every day living. I have five children and live 50 miles away from mum, she was diagnosed in October and has declined rapidly since, she has oxygen at night and cant go anywhere unaccompanied. She lives in a second story flat so im trying to move her in with...

    Thank You For The Support
Deal all, i only came across this site in August after finding that my 60 year old father had advanced liver cancer. During the past four months i have found a lot of comfort from reading such positive stories and seeing such support everyone gives each other. I have only joined in a few times, asking the odd question here and there and have been so overwhelmed with the kind responses. Sadly on new years day my wonderful father passed away quietly at home with myself and my mother sat with him. While...

    New to blogging
Well I've never tried blogging before but, since being diagnosed with myeloma, I've found so much inspiration in reading other people's stories, I thought I might try my hand at sharing mine. Some background information: My name is Leanne. I'm a 47 year old mother of two (19 year old daughter, Kahlie and 17 year old son, Cale) married to Tony. We live in a large country town called Maitland, about half an hour out of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Tony works as Superintendent of Conveyors...

    Home at last.
Once Stephen went to sleep I went back to my husband who was waiting for me on the ward. Because Stephen couldn’t have any food or drink, neither did I, and I was feeling very hungry. We went to the canteen had something to eat and more important, cups of tea. After about one hour I was phoned and told that he was out of the theatre, and I could go down and wait for him to come round. Back to the ward went my husband and off to the theatre went I. I had to wait a while, the doc. came and said it...

    Any suggestions-Could use some advice
Hi everyone, My husband had cancer of the tongue 3 years ago. He is still suffering today from microscopic mouth burns from the extensive radiation that he received. He still can not eat foods that he loves. Has anyone else experienced this at all? Does anyone have any suggestions on what he can do to find some relief? He swishes with lanacane, bendryl, and mylanta often. I would love to find someone who has experienced a similar situation. He could really use some support.

    Happy New Year!
Well here we are in 2009 - Happy, Healthy New Year! Have overdone things over the past 24 hours I think. Went out for a curry last night with hubby and we then saw the New Year in with a good friend and neighbour who was having a party at her house for her daughter who was turning 18. A housefull of teenagers with fireworks, champagne flowing and more food and birthday cake! Got home at around 3am, a bit tipsy! Today went to sister in laws house for a family meal - soup to start, delicious...

    Fears
Full of hope on this new years day, but reflecting on the fact that I am one of only a couple of people I have met through here and Macm that have not had recurrence of some kind from anal cancer. The prognosis was extremely good and I hold onto that, but sometimes the odds seem to be building up. Another check up at the clinic in two weeks' time, probably why I'm starting to worry again. Trouble is people I've got to know seem to be falling around me, I'm so there for them but can't help feeling...

Hung over and didn't even have a drink
I've been tired all morning slept all afternoon, and thrown up all evening, and all this without a drink, still I enjoyed my self even stayed out till midnight, but got to admit I resent the hang over, I thought that when I stopped drinking after they told me that I had cancer of the liver as well as the lung, that at least my days of dying from alcohol poisioning were over, but it seems that I get the exact same symptoms just from being over tired. Still never mind had all day to get over it, and...

    back home
Just a quick update, My Mil came home on Tuesday, they only managed to drain the fluid from the biggest pocket they could, as she now has multiple pockets with fluid. Part of her lung is still deflated so she is a little short of breath. I am still a bit upset rearding my earlier blog, My Hubby seems to be taking it very hard and has been shouting at me and the children I told him he needs to sort himself out as it's not my or the childrens fault it's happened. I am trying to be supportive but I...
