one down 14 to go

Less than one minute read time.
Well, thankfully that was easy. First rads done today for BC. Just a few moments under invisiable rays and off you go, see you tomorrow they cheerfully cry. Compared to chemo its a doddle. See what i say after three weeks lol. But, i am like red rum running down for the last furlong, and aiming for that finishing post to gain my prize, which is another go at life, hopefully i will get it right this time lol. With minus 10 out there its time to pamper myself and keep heating on tonight, keep warm everyone and big hug xxxxxx

I know it sounds daft but i can't wait to be where you are now after all of what goes before with the chemo etc. I hope the rest of it goes well it does sound a doddle after chemo. are you going to be on medication as well? how long after your chemo has your radiotherapy started and is that it then?

I used to say the same thing when i first came on here last May i was in utter despair i tell you.  I had chemo first, then surgery on 13th November ad am on arimidex.  To be honest, I have been on the meds for 5 weeks now and have had no side effects at all only the best one, the appetite has ceased quite a lot, but i need to lose weight anyway so thats a bonus.  At least with rads a bit of a sore boob is nothing to crawling on all fours from your bed to the loo to vomit and you cant stand up because you feel like passing out.  I know its all worth it in the end, and i wish you good healing love, you will get there i promise.  Oh i finished chemo on 13th october which was my last one then two weeks after that i got neutropenia which was annoying.  Then surgery which wasnt bad at all in comparison, i think nothing is bad now in comparison to chemo and once thats over you feel just great i tell you.

Yes after rads thats it, i will be on the meds for 5 years but who cares i will do anything to be cancer free for a while.

Keep up your strength and your heart it will soon fly by xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Jan

Glad the radio went well, I'm a bit behind you stillon chemo 3 down - 5 to go.  Have to say I have moments when I want to get off the train, but know I can't and I just want the crappy cell obliterated from my body. Its reassuring to hear the radiotherapy isn't so bad.

Take care and best wishes.  You'll soon be across that finishing line.

    Love Carol, xx

i know how you feel, when i was on chemo 4 of 8 i just wanted to give up too, its that mid way stage is just the pits and i really really feel for you, but stick with it, honestly before too long you will be at this stage and remember when you wanted to be.  Lets just walk the line and get through to the other side and get this pointless disease out of our bodies so we can live life again .  Big hugs to you love, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I think the worst thing about radiotherapy is the travelling there and back each day (round trip of 40 miles for me) and the hospital parking was a nightmare. After chemo you could almost say it was a refreshing change. I used to lie there trying to imagine the rays (or whatever theyare) marching through my body eating up all the nasties. My radiotherapy was through January last year - again I cannot believe that it was a year ago. It does pass although at the time you can't see the way ahead cos you're too wrapped up in the moment. Take care, that bit of it will soon be over x
